Article.

Blockbuster's new way is a device that will allow you to download movies to it so you can watch them on your TV.

Netflix's device does streaming video.

Here's my problem with both services, isn't that what "On Demand" (or whatever your cable/satellite provider calls it) currently offers? I can hit the "On Demand" button on my remote, purchase and watch a movie in seconds without any download.

Why wouldn't I do that instead of going to Blockbuster, paying $100 for a box, hooking it up at home, then downloading movies, etc.

It'd have to be a decision based on 1) price and/or 2) selection. There's usually a limited number of On Demand choices, and you may want others. And after the initial box purchase, BB and Netflix may be cheaper than many cable providors On Demand service.

But so far they have not convinced me to try it. Not with that up front box cost.

Time Warner's "On Demand" system works about 35% of the time.

My XBox can do that with Netflix anyway, why get another device?

This is retarded.
