Ted Nugent said, paraphrased because you don't remember exactly, "Kids don't smoke crack while they're out hunting grouse."

And does it anger anyone else that the bodies every woman had 40 years ago is now considered an "unrealistic body standard?"

It sure annoys my wife due to the snide comments she gets for being thin.

I should probably stop doing that :)

An obese transgender women was in charge of health standards in the U.S. for the past four years. The inmates were literally running the asylum.

But that person or RFK Jr or Swartzenegger or Jesus, it doesn't fucking matter. 41.9% of Americans are obese. 73.6% are overweight.

Our food is poison, our lives are increasingly sedentary, and we don't teach physical health or good eating habits.

BTW, when Grillmaster Chuck Schumer used "population decline" as a terrible fucking excuse for the illegal immigrant crisis the Biden admin created, someone should have pointed out to him that reproductive issues are a direct result of being overweight. That's not even mentioning all the links between reproductive issues and chemicals found around our homes and in our food. Stuff all the assholes in Congress could have been working on for decades instead of taking bribes to look the other way.

I dare you to sue her for the trauma she creates by looking so fit and healthy. It's simply not realistic for you to look that way and it cause you so much stress!!!

Honestly, 23 years since we've met. I think she's gained a total of 5 pounds. And yeah, I struggle to keep a healthy weight. I lost weight last summer, still not where I should be, then had hip surgery which laid me up (still not 100% back), so I've been taking those weight loss shots to help. They're not ideal, but helpful. And only $25/month through insurance.

I had never heard of it.

Tis the season that I need to start thinking about losing some weight. I'm not the fattest man in the world, but I'm top two.

If your insurance covers it, it's a good deal. With a "discount card" from the manufacturer, I pay $25 (versus $175 insurance, versus $1000 list price). Some (many?) people take it with no side effects. I am not one of those people, mostly constipation or diarrhea for me. But I lost my weight, and I need to lose about 20 more pounds, and want it gone.

It has been since the charges were filed on the heels of Adams publicly criticizing the Biden administration over immigration.

Also, serious question here: While I'm 100% certain Adams is dirty, which I assume of all politicians, why would a quid pro quo be out of order here? We do it with all other defendants and crimes. Why not here? (BTW, a claim Adams' lawyer says is a blatant lie. Just being fair to both sides.)

No? No we don't? Politicians held to higher standards? Public corruption? Bribery?
The Justice Department’s order to drop charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams gives the Trump administration powerful leverage over the big-city Democrat.

The order said the pending prosecution of Adams interfered with the mayor’s ability to give his full attention to President Trump’s priorities of combating illegal immigration and violent crime. But the department explicitly reserved the right to revive the case later, giving Adams a powerful incentive to follow the president’s policy wishes.

That approach, former officials say, is a departure from the way the Justice Department traditionally handles cases, and it risks turning the institution that typically celebrates its independence from political influence into an operation where law enforcement is open to negotiation.

The dismissal “serves as an example to all public officials that prosecutorial discretion may be used as a carrot or a stick by this administration to incentivize political support,” said Barbara McQuade, a former U.S. attorney in Detroit. It sends the message that “public officials who support Trump’s agenda will get out of jail free.”

I laughed.

Also, you misunderstood the question. I didn't ask IF we did that, I'm asking WHY. I get the whole, we don't want to influence politics thing, and I'm down, but is it really true? We "force" political policy through threats in other forms, so why draw the line at the justice system, particularly is someone is dirty?

And again, I'm sure the previous admin hitting him with charges right when he started openly being defiant towards them wasn't political pressure using the justice system.

The "Hillary's server" became a punchline by the left for the obsessiveness of the right, but some of us realized it was indicative of a much bigger problem, and festering rot, in our government.

resident Donald Trump invoked a famous phrase attributed to French military leader Napoleon Bonaparte, reinforcing his stance on resisting limitations to his executive authority amid ongoing legal battles.
The quote, “He who saves his country does not violate any law,” which Bonaparte used during his reign as emperor, was shared by Trump on his Truth Social platform. The White House has yet to comment on the post.
Cuz that's what we do to dictators.

I'm surprised yall don't know more people impacted by what's going on, but whatever, different bubbles for different people.

I think we have an illegal immigrant problem, I've written essays about it for at least a decade. I like those actions.

I know a transgender kid in the army getting his life together. I hate his stance about transgender military people.

I think "Gulf of America" doesn't matter in the fucking SLIGHTEST, and it's a good troll, and a self-identifier for those who are on the edge.

And everyone has known for generations that government spending is often wasteful, and everyone has always wished government spending was less wasteful, but now that trump is making big moves against it, everyone now loves wasteful government spending dearly, and will defend that bureaucracy and proper procedure to the point of wishing for open revolution. This feels unreasonable to me.

So believe it of not, it's possible to not blanket love or blanket hate the guy.

The most interesting thing so far may be that he's actually followed through on most, or all, of his campaign promises. What excuse will future presidents have for not doing so?

Ah yes, inflation is tamed, the war in Ukraine is over on day 1, and tips and social security are no longer taxed, and the budget is balanced. I forgot.
