The [s]First[/s] [s]Only[/s] Second Trump term

I don't know how I feel about the WHO pull out. I never paid too much attention to the WHO (the band or the organization). I do know the second tweet below is a strong reason to withdraw from it. Why TF are we constantly the ones funding everything? Last I checked there was a massive homeless crisis, a home shortage/price crisis, a skyrocketing COL for most Americans, and an out of control debt for the U.S. government all here at home.

It does feel like we need to get our spending under control for once, and that means hard cuts are going to need to be made. Is this one of the "right ones"? I don't know.

I do know pulling out of the Paris Accord is the right move. Fuck polluters #1 and #3, China and India, being called "emerging nations", and thus, don't have to foot the bill. Guess who was...fucking again... Bonus points because China still manufactures chemicals (CFCs) banned throughout the world in violation of other treaties and laws. Oh, and maybe, just maybe, we eliminate any preferred status for countries that still have actual slaves?

I'm sure pulling out of the WHO WOULD weaken global health security.

But the USA will be fine with our CDC and public sanitation systems, rules, and regulations.

If we could just close the borders and keep the disease carriers.... cough.... out, we'd be golden.

NGL, Trump has brought me joy in the last 24.

Threatening Putin, shitting on John Bolton, I'm sure this guy will do nothing in the next 24 hours for me to hate him again....

Like shitting on CA for fires we can't do much about, for example...

Bay area is like +6 inches of rain for the year, it's WET. SoCal is just... dry as a bone.

As someone who didn't vote for Harris or Trump, I haven't been displeased with Trump's start. I don't love everything he's done (a couple of the EOs were stupid), but you have to respect that he's actually doing things. (Considering how much we're learning about Biden's time in office, perhaps I should emphasize "he's" in that sentence...) I'd argue it's also pretty obvious why "the establishment" didn't want him winning. "Business as usual" is out the fucking window.

Loved that he pulled SC from the 51 people who lied about Hunter's laptop. Their lies were a direct action against U.S. citizens.

I was fine with pardoning non-violent J6 people. Sorry, but a lot of those people were given ridiculously stupid sentences for simply trespassing. That whole thing was a political witch hunt. If they really wanted to get to the truth, they would have gone more in depth with both Pelosi and Trump's decisions that day and leading up to it. Also, the pipe bomb guy would have been a bigger deal. That being said, pardoning the violent J6 people I wasn't ok with. Doesn't matter where you stand on J6, these individuals were still violent with federal officers and federal property. They should be punished. Shorten their sentences, fine, but they aren't the same as the non-violent folks.

The birthright one is also stupid. Unless you're changing the Constitution, which is much more involved than just saying so, that EO is useless.

Troy, you living in CA, I'm sure you're probably hearing different things than we are about the fires.

What we're hearing:
-The LAFD is run by three obese women who got their positions based on their gender and sexual preferences. One of whom made a PA I posted here that is the worst thing I've ever heard anyone in the public service sector say. Paraphrasing, she said if she can't carry a man out of a fire, it's his fault for being in the wrong place. Seriously. Fuck that cunt and the fact she wasn't immediately fired says a ton about local politics there.
-The mayor is as inept as Lori Lightfoot and cut the LAFD budget by $17.5M(?). Her responses to this tragedy have been the most uncaring from a city's leader since what's his face and "Chocolate City".
-Even before Trump called him Newscum (*), the poor man's Justin Trudeau was already being pointed at as being a primary cause of the situation based on policies and spending over the years that have gone to things other than fire prevention. How many tens (hundreds?) of millions are spent on illegals, and now their legal defense vs fire prevention? It's a fair question.

Those are the things I hear. I won't speak for everyone else. It's not blaming CA for the fire, it's saying CA leadership is responsible for making the conditions that made this fire worse. Like some policy Gavin did years ago is the primary reason the reservoirs were empty, there was no brush cleanup done in that area recently and the state is supposed to, yada yada yada.

Do you hear that same stuff or does local media point fingers elsewhere?

* - One thing I've never liked about Trump is his insults. I don't mind someone being different from other politicians and not making their insults "professional", but they're so uncreative. It's like someone naming their dog, "Dog".

Our second dog is called "Dog". :-) Her real name is August, and my wife called her Augie, which I didn't care for. So I would call her "Doggie" which I felt was close enough to "Augie" that it wouldn't confuse her. That eventually became the most used name (Doggie), which was eventually shortened to "Dog".

The fires were unstoppable, don’t let them be politicized in your brain. Nothing on that list stops the fire, it’s just the usual culture war bullshit.

It’s like how the West Coast is always threatened with some end of the world earthquake. This is the same thing, houses built on dry canyons and hillsides are always prone to drought or dry season fires.

I’m in LA right now. It’s nothing like the bay, which is cold and wet. It’s dry as a bone, with hot, strong winds. In the middle of what is supposed to be our wet season - winter.

Just very bad luck SoCal. Joe Rogan predicted : https://www.newsweek.com/joe-rogan-los- ... ng-2012197

The Oligarch class dislikes that, and they seem to be making the calls.

Right? Nobody who says something this profoundly stupid should have ever been in that position.

If he releases that list, he becomes legend. If he doesn't, the speculation will be that he's on it.

Wildcard prediction:

Trump is shaking so many cages, up to and including the CIA, that he's assassinated within 10 days.

edit - Which may or may not kick off an official civil war against DC.

No organization, domestic or international, would be wise to touch him at this point. He's Obi Wan. Killing him only makes him stronger, and what rises from those ashes will be worse.
