"Biden."

My cousin told me about this issue about a month ago. He's an engineer at a car parts manufacturer, and where they source their steel is a part of their thing.

Removing medical debt from credit reports.

I'm on board with this one, especially since they've completely fucked up the health care system.

Also nice that they let Harris announce it. She needed a win.

Biden declares a 28th amendment before heading off to Shady Acres.

You'd think a lifelong politician would know that's not how this works.

In his last act as president, Biden gives blanket pardons to a bunch of Trump critics and his family.

1. Innocent people don't need pardons. And yeah, I get protecting them from a vindictive person, but if the right decisions were made and there is nothing to be found...but based just on Hunter's laptop, we know there's a paper trail for something...
2. As the article points out, this will apparently be business as usual now. So, take all the bribes you want when your [fill in the blank] is president.

To be fair, Biden has no memory of making that statement.

And he didn't. His staff did.

Was thinking about the good things that happened under Biden.

Economists will say the economy did great, but regular people scream "bullshit" about as loud as they can. But hey, what are they going to believe, the good numbers that their betters said, or their lying eyes?

The thing I did like was student loan forgiveness. Not because adults should be let off the hook for their poor choices, but because hey..... corporations get bailouts all the time, and they will still lay off and put out record dividends that quarter. So at least this time regular people got the payoff.

And then I realized... that wasn't Biden. It's unspoken that his staff has been in charge for X amount of time.... and I suspect some of them had student loan debt, so student loans got paid by Uncle Sugar.

President Donald Trump reiterated that the United States is going to place 25% tariff on goods imported from Canada and Mexico while signing executive actions from the Oval Office on Thursday.
It was a good run

SCOTUS said they were unconstitutional, so no they didn't.

I'm willing to let it play out. I've heard enough people discuss the tariffs and declare the sky is falling and enough say its fine that I don't think anyone actually knows. I get the argument against them, but I also know that our goods face massive tariffs throughout the world and somehow nobody cares. I think in those instances, let's level the playing field. I don't think we should accept a deal of "We're going to sell our product in your country, but if you try to sell yours here it's a 150% tariff. Oh, and make sure you keep sending aid checks. Thanks!"

Problem is............... the main entity tariffs hurt are American consumers. The idea is that they make imported goods cost more at wholesale/retail, and that makes the consumer look for a cheaper product that is supposedly made in America, and not subject to import tariffs. If it takes a year, or never, for an American factory to tool up and start making car parts, then just too darn bad, American consumer.

If that tariff money got split up amongst us and we got a check every year, that would be one thing. But George W Bush isn't in charge any more and we won't be seeing surplus checks.

As we're already living under the devastation the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION wreaked upon the economy, it's just new hurt when peeps were finally adjusting to the old hurt.

We have a trade agreement with Canada and Mexico that prohibits any such behavior.

And any such tariffs will be shot down in court if the trade agreement blocks it.

I have lots of thoughts on this, but I'm putting a pin in it for now. Too busy today.

If I were them, I'd set aside the money as if I was still paying it and earn interest on it. SCOTUS specifically told the Biden he couldn't do this, but he did anyway. (What do you call it when a leader ignores the law?)

Tens of thousands of people would suddenly have new debts of tens of thousands of dollars. It would be interesting.
