It's gaslighting because they're only highlighting an instance pertaining to one side and completely ignoring the exact same thing happening for the other side.

And I dislike it when you go all "moral equivalency" when it's not. But I mean, let's not let that distract us from the important things in life: boobs.

LMAO per the documents and text from the DOJ Indictment - Tenant was not fans of the Tucker Carlson grocery store in Russia trip. Thought it was not subtle enough: "feels like overt shilling"

Little did they know, the target market and audience was RIPE and READY.

You're right. It's not.

CNN intentionally manipulating it's viewers to vote for Biden, a major U.S. corporation viewed by many as being "the" source of unbiased information intentionally steering all queries to one candidate and not the other (and it being completely ignored by a MSM making big deals of other election interference - let's compare user numbers - Google vs Tim Poole's YouTube stream), and the U.S. government squashing legitimate news stories by threatening social media sites that could have influenced the election are not the same as Russian and Chinese governments using cash to try to influence non-mainstream social media accounts to try to manipulate voters.

Not even close.

I genuinely think "Russia" is a dog whistle at this point. (FYI, I think both the people who think Russia is our biggest threat and those who think we should just completely abandon Ukraine are equally ignorant.) Russian election interference is a boogeyman that's been created to push the Trump-Russia collusion story that was squashed long ago, yet still pushed by many in the MSM and people like Biden (during the DNC). Do Russians interfere in our elections? Sure and they probably have for a long time. China too. And Israel. And England. And the entirety of Europe. And the list goes on and includes our very own government. That same government interferes in elections around the globe, has for decades, and even includes enabling coups/assassinations.

So glad our country isn't a glass house...

But yeah, I'm sick and tired of hearing anyone discuss Russian election interference while they completely ignore Google, FB, the DOJ, the FBI, Twitter, TikTok, etc.'s interference in our previous elections and this one.

I'm also pretty sick and tired of the "Yeah, my side did that too, but it's ok that we did it because..." If it's factual, great. But if someone does it to every single fucking issue/scandal for their side, it gets old.

Relevant: Kind of amazing how every single right leaning voice in the MSM/social media/etc. is constantly dismissed as propaganda, and thus, everything they say is immediately given zero credibility. Yet, despite the constant stories and evidence of left leaning voices and outlets lying to their audiences, spinning stories, not reporting them, etc. they're "legitimate news".

Critical thinking says the math don't math on that, and I know it doesn't for you too, but for far too many people, 4+4=Jello. (Shout out to Chris Rock.)

I've made no secret that I don't vote R or D if I can help it (and no secret that I'd vote Fetterman for president right now if I could). I've also made no secret that I currently believe the D party is the greater evil. No point getting into that. I've listed out why previously and nobody is changing anyone else's minds, so why bother?

Orwell warned us. We didn't listen.
“Every record been destroyed or falsified, books rewritten, pictures repainted, statues, street building renamed, every date altered. The process is continuing day by day. History stops. Nothing exists except endless present in which the Party is right.”
And there will be a punishment, but I will share boobs.

Maybe all of those documented instances of D dishonesty are actually stories planted by russians.

Your argument only makes sense because you're leaving out the other side. It's nonsensical. You keep arguing this things are equivalent, when they are far from equivalent. Yes, there are some bad things on each side, but one is much worse. CNN puts a thumb on the scales, Fox just shits all over the scale. Google has some suspicious search results, X amplifies right wing lies all day long, including the Russian propaganda, manipulates content, and buries words like cis/cisgender, but no issues with actual Nazis.

Shades of grey matter.

And boobs matter more.

I think it all 100% sucks, and I think dishonesty is all the same shade of evil.

And I don't trust my "betters" to decide what is and isn't allowed to say, because 100% of them are bent and lying.

Basically, if you didn't see it yourself, someone is lying to you about it, right down to last quarter's unemployment numbers.

It's not like the Republicans are even trying to do policy anymore, either. It's just endless culture war boomer triggering nonsense, fights over bathrooms, all bullshit. Like these people haven't lived in houses with gender neutral bathrooms their entire fucking lives.

Trump at the Economic Club today, his one coherent position (among endless word salad BULLSHIT) was, really:
"I'll put Elon in charge of everything"

The dude running Tesla and Twitter into the fucking ground? That guy? Whose only supporting you because you promised him more EV government money?

Fighting cultures wars, trying to cut taxes to people with over $100M, doubling down on widely unpopular abortion mandates, telling women over 35 that don't have kids that they are failures and useless to society?

There just... isn't an equivalency here. One side is hopeful. The other side is just awful, grifters, bible thumping wackos, and worse. Full of people voting one last time to "own the libs" on their way to a early, gravy clogged grave. I hope Harris wins just to see the GOP implode with all the Trumps holding the golden parachute strings.

Hopeful?

That've had the presidency 12 of the last 16 years. "Hope" is the snake oil they sell. If they meant to change anything, they would have by now.

I did approve of the student loan forgiveness, from the point of view they're going to do bullshit spending anyway, at least this time it was a bailout for people and not corporations.

On a side note, I heard about an app that would automatically mirror Nancy Pelosi's stock trades, in your own portfolio. Anyone know if that was legit, or a joke?

Well, the job and labor market looks pretty good over those years. Except for a pretty big downswing when the Orange Buffon was in office.

So, we hope we don't have to repeat that downcycle, again?

I believe it is a real mutual fund you can invest in, that mirrors her portfolio and moves.

Well now you're changing the subject.

All y'all were predicting like.a 18 month hiccup. I said ten years to normality, and was dismissed. I'd say I was closer to the mark. It can be argued the current inflation problems can be traced to fiscal policy of the last five years.

Honestly, the economy is so normal I thought about posting last week how normal it was. I'll give you 3.5 years, 4 tops.

Russia Helped Houthis target Western ships
Russia provided targeting data for Yemen’s Houthi rebels as they attacked Western ships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones earlier this year, helping the Iranian-backed group assault a major artery for global trade and further destabilizing the region.

The Houthis, which began their attacks late last year over the Gaza war, eventually began using Russian satellite data as they expanded their strikes, said a person familiar with the matter and two European defense officials. The data was passed through members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who were embedded with the Houthis in Yemen, one of the people said.

The assistance, which hasn’t been previously reported, shows how far Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to go to undermine the U.S.-led Western economic and political order. Russia, in this case, supported the Iran-backed Houthis, which the U.S. designates as a terrorist group, as they carried out a series of attacks in one of the world’s most heavily traveled shipping routes.

More broadly, Russia has sought to stoke instability from the Middle East to Asia to create problems for the U.S., analysts say. The widening conflict in the Middle East, triggered by last year’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel, has absorbed resources and attention at a time when Washington has sought to focus on the threats from Russia and China.
