People worth 8 figures: No, dawg, we're insured. We can't afford American healthcare either.

Senate banking chair calls for leadership change at the FDIC.
Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat who heads the Senate Banking Committee, is calling for a leadership overhaul at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation following a scathing 234-page report released earlier this month that detailed pervasive sexual harassment, discrimination and bullying at the agency
Sounds like a no brainer, right?

Well, here's the problem, and example #3,657,209 of how the parties don't care about running the country, but rather, maintaining power:
Most Democrats haven’t called on Gruenberg to be replaced. That’s likely because if Gruenberg were to vacate his position, Vice Chair Travis Hill, a Republican appointee, would automatically become chair until a replacement is appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. Ultimately, if President Joe Biden heeds Brown’s call, there’s no guarantee that his new pick would be confirmed by January, when a new president could be inaugurated.

I wonder if the recession that everyone keeps predicting would finally hit if the government stopped spending 30% over what they collect.

And I wonder how long the government can ignore that practice.

Interesting how stable it has been for most of our lives relative to 40s through 70s.

Though this is probably the type of analysis that need log axis.

100 most overpaid CEOs

I'd really like to learn more about their process in determining their ratings, what people are overpaid, etc. Also, Bob Iger is a glaring omission. Disney's stock has dropped >50% since he returned.

A glitch caused some issues this morning on the NYSE.

That glitch saw Berkshire Hathaway, Buffet's company, on pace to lose 99% of its value. In response to the glitch, Buffet actually tweeted and it's pretty funny.

Some very interesting numbers in that article.
The current market cap for US stocks is $50,782 BILLION.
Just last week, they sold off $5.7 billion more in stocks than they purchased, the highest outflow since last July.
5.7 / 50782 = 0.01% of the stock market.

People Catt. People.

Sure, the money is still there, but doesn't that seem to show that indeed a shrinking number of people have it all?

Well, the people with the money don't, clearly.

It's too bad that the people with the most fragile egos and the smallest penises are the ones most driven to get rich.

Because our elected officials can't be bothered to actually do their jobs, TJ Maxx parent company to make employees wear body cameras to deter thieves.

What happens when an employee leaves it on while going to the bathroom or an employee accidentally gets a changing customer naked on camera? What happens when that image is "accidentally" leaked?

The thieves who go into stores with the grocery bags to steal shit already wear masks, so how does a body cam help?

I heard someone say the other day that back in the day, Henry Ford tried to take his excess profits and give his workers raises, but then a rival car company sued him by saying that wouldn't be good for stockholders, and he is required to do what's in the best interest for stock holders.

Can anyone speak to the veracity of that statement?

lawsuit true, person who brought it not true.

Basically, companies exist for the benefit of the shareholders. But management still largely has wide discretion in deciding what that means.

Companies can organize as different types of corporations if they do not want to do this.

Long story short:

Tractor Supply was exposed by a former employee, Robby Starbuck (you can search it on Twitter), this became a problem for their primarily conservative customer base. Boycotts started and their stock dropped quickly. Within three weeks, Tractor Supply put out this tweet completely reversing direction. Corps can do what they want, but it is nice when they listen to their customers.
