I remember in the 90s when we celebrated being a meritocracy. I mean, it obviously wasn't 100% true, but it was in many places.

And then they decided "privilege" was a thing, and those who had talent were pushed aside under the notion they gained that talent at the expense of someone else of a different color. And down we slide.

The sad part of this is that there's no solution for nepotism. No government, business, organization, etc. is immune to it.

How many son's of presidents being president has there been? I only know of one. How did they come up with these numbers? Or do they mean any kind of president? Of the United States? Of the chess club? Of the HOA? Of the company? I don't feel like Jeb Bush becoming president is 1.5 million times greater than Desantis becoming president. But would probably be 10 billion times greater than me being president.
