Based on how everything else is going for them, how confident are we that their nukes will even do anything?

I think we’ve seismically recorded nuke tests of pretty big scale in Russia. And we know they can shoot ballistic and cruise missiles - their cruise missiles being the most effective in this war. So like you said before - even in a best case scenario, some cities get nuked.

This is if the USA were to get involved though. Clearly the Russians fucking hate our guts.

There are some armies in Europe that could turn the tide by themselves. Poland, France, Finland? End of list. I wonder if they would be as itchy to nuke countries that close to their own borders.

Oh - Turkey has a huge army… but they do joint patrols with the Russians in Syria… so… yeah wishful thinking. Just keep the TB2s coming!

You know.

I've been generally dismissing all the "russian propaganda!" claims in our elections. I sided on the side that it was free speech, and regular people weren't dumb enough to fall for it. But seeing how half of russians believe their own propaganda about "we aren't' attacking ukraine civilians targets, we are liberating them!" I'm coming around to the idea that people are too stupid to be allowed any participation in the government that controls them, until they prove they aren't idiots.

10 idiots is amusing. 10 million have the power to make catastrophic decisions. Enough is enough. Starship Troopers Now.

Advance Wars Switch game delayed due to Russian war "in light of recent events"

This game was originally released 9/10/2001.
The game's release in Japan and Europe was delayed, supposedly due to the September 11 attacks in the United States.
Is this game cursed? Should Nintendo stop publishing it?
It's not me, it's someone else.

“This threatens the change of public opinion in Russia, the destabilization of our power structures... with the possibility of a full destabilization of the country and a civil war. This apocalyptic scenario is based on the script written by the Americans. They benefit through us dragging out the military operation. We need to end it somehow. If we achieved the demilitarization and freed the Donbas, that is sufficient... I have a hard time imagining taking cities such as Kyiv. I can’t imagine how that would look. If this picture starts to transform into an absolute humanitarian disaster, even our close allies like China and India will be forced to distance themselves from us. This public opinion, with which they’re saturating the entire world, can play out badly for us... Ending this operation will stabilize things within the country.”

We know, bro. Funny that this is suddenly a script that WE are writing, though.

Fox news is keeping their morale up. Unbelievable.
To lighten the mood in the studio, the host resorted to one of the favorite pastimes of many Kremlin propagandists: playing yet another Fox News clip of Tucker Carlson and his frequent guest Ret. Col. Doug Macgregor. In the translated video, Macgregor predicted Russia’s easy military victories over Ukraine and its total invincibility to Western sanctions. Soloviev sighed and smiled: “He’s a lot more optimistic than my previous experts in the studio.”

A nuke in Kiev would close up their operation immediately.

We can only hope the fact that Kyiv and Moscow are like 11 hours drive plays into their thinking here.

It really is amazing when you hit that moment in life, that not everyone hits, where you begin to see how people spin things to fit their own needs. They will believe it to their core no matter what evidence is presented to them that proves they are wrong.

Tucker Carlson is easily one of the worst human beings on the planet right now. You have to be a special level of evil to spread the hate that he does and still sleep at night.

Interesting scenario. What does the world's response look like to that? How many more sanctions can be put on Russia? All of Russia's allies probably have to condemn the move. Most of the fallout would travel east, and thus, directly to Russia.

UK army is a joke, has been a problem for years. They spend all their money on Navy and RAF.

Germany would literally be the last army on my list. Deutchebank launders Russian money. They are not who you think they are.

They have very good special forces and their RAF would probably win the air war overnight. However, I do concede that their regular army probably is nothing to brag about at this time.

I legit thought Germany had the largest army in Europe. Is that not the case?

To be fair, watching China openly commit every atrocity known to man while the rest of the world takes their bribe money...I don't think much of any country anymore. I think they're all full of shit.

Nothing from the Germans have done since the war kicked off has convinced me they would use that army effectively, or deliberately.

They are seriously economically tied to Russia. To the point that their hands are tied in this.

Yep, that's gross.

Be cool if some rich folks and corps would pull out of that bank.

UK Army being a joke is overstated - they have their reasons for the choices they made and are as Anti Russia as any. There just isn't much of it.

I'm sure they are good soldiers. But I have been hearing / reading stuff for years about underfunded and staffed UK army units.

I don't question your take at all. I mean, I think a Chinese army as a threat to the U.S. is a joke. They could be 3 billion strong, but it's meaningless to us because they cannot get here.

The UK, being a smaller nation, would definitely have a smaller army than Russia, and during peacetime people tend to forget how important a strong military is and stop funding it or signing up for it.

I think China's best bet would be to build a massive bridge from Russia to Alaska, defend it obviously, and mass troops in Canada and head down from there.
