WHO CARES
Patriot fans.

Brian Flores sues the NFL for racist hiring practices.

The problem with his lawsuit is that the Giants had already interviewed Leslie Frazier twice, so...
Leslie Frazier's in-person interview was after Flores' in-person interview.
Jan. 11 (Tue) – Giants fire Joe Judge as head coach
Jan. 21 (Fri) – Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen hired as GM
Jan. 21 (Fri) – Bills OC Brian Daboll interviews with Schoen and Giants’ co-owners via teleconference
Jan. 22 (Sat) – Bills DC Leslie Frazier interviews via teleconference
Jan. 23 (Sun) – Bengals DC Lou Anarumo interviews via teleconference
Jan. 23 (Sun) – Daboll and Frazier’s Buffalo Bills eliminated from playoffs
Jan. 24 (Mon) – Cowboys DC Dan Quinn interviews in-person. Giants’ first in-person interview for the job.
Jan. 25 (Tue) – Brian Daboll receives second interview. Interview occurs in-person

*Brian Flores receives text messages from Bill Belichick congratulating him on becoming next Giants coach even though Flores has not had his interview yet. Belichick’s text messages were intended for Daboll.*

Jan. 26 (Wed) – Giants DC Patrick Graham interviews. Does not satisfy Rooney Rule since in-house candidate
Jan. 26 (Wed) – Ex-Dolphins HC Brian Flores has dinner with Schoen
Jan. 27 (Thu) – Brian Flores interviews (satisfies Rooney Rule because it is in-person with someone outside organization)
Jan. 27 (Thu) – Dan Quinn announces he is remaining as Cowboys DC
Jan. 28 (Fri) – Leslie Frazier gets second interview, this time in-person, also satisfying Rooney Rule
Jan. 28 (Fri) – Daboll hired as head coach

Definitely an unjust firing.
TheCatt wrote: Tue Feb 01, 2022 9:58 pm Leslie Frazier's in-person interview was after Flores' in-person interview.
Twitter got it wrong? I'm shocked! Shocked I say!

He needs a job. I'd welcome him in Pittsburgh to replace Tomlin. Although, Tomlin might get brought up as part of the NFL's defense. When Coweher stepped down, Ken Whisenhunt was the odds on favorite and by all accounts the job was his, but they brought in Tomlin for the Rooney Rule (ironic?). Anyway, Tomlin won the job with his interview. That made the Arizona-Pittsburgh Super Bowl all the more interesting because Whisenhunt hated Tomlin for that.

My list of cool NFL Names: Honestly, the AFC North does really well, all of those teams. The Titans, Cowboys, Giants, Bucs, Saints, Panthers, and 49ers.

Every other name is objectively lame.

Commanders is absolutely terrible. WTF does it have to do with anything? Does it mean all the other NFL team names are awesome? Of course not.

Didn't they, literally, ask the fans what to name the team and Commanders was not chosen? (or even an option?)

The WTFers was honestly a much better name. It "fixed" a problem. It was a perfect name in this woke bullshit era. It was a perfect name considering their location and ties to DC. It was unique. As hilarious as it was initially, it truly fit them perfectly.

You're not wrong, but they typically have some link to the region (or to the region where they originated). I guess the DC area fits that for Commanders, but it really fits for every area that's had any sort of military base, event, etc.

Plus, the Washington Generals already exist and they're the losingest franchise in sports history. How does Commanders set itself apart from them?

DC, military. Seems pretty obvious.

Is DC the heart of the military? No. Sure, the Pentagon is there, but I've been told many times that it's just an office building. No good strategist is going to put all of their military decision making into one specially designed, highly advertised, and easy to spot building. The Pentagon is full of politicians like the rest of DC.

Its just so fucking generic and doesn't roll off the tongue.

They are, but they have won games.

That naming silliness aside, much bigger stories now coming out and the NFL is going to be scrambling:

The reason Flores was fired is coming into light and it's not about race.

Hue Jackson says he was made the same offer.

Twitter is having a field day with that one. Most comments suggest he must now be richer than Musk.

Flores and Jackson getting paid to tank. Flores class action racism lawsuit. The "Commanders". And the Congressional hearings starting tomorrow regarding Snyder. All during the lead up to the Super Bowl.

Roger Goodell better start earning that ridiculously high pay.

And now I'm wondering if that's why David Cullen got fired in Houston because they had a shot at the #1 pick, but were trying to win games.

Same stuff reported the other day, the tanking.
Leisher wrote: Wed Feb 02, 2022 12:22 pm Flores and Jackson getting paid to tank.
NFL can't sweep that under the rug.

In all honesty, if you're not going to the playoffs, may as well tank, but I dont think they want that perception.
