Know what would be fun? Maybe?

A 48 hour LAN party. Drop all responsibilities onto someone else. Set up a gaming rig on an uncomfortable folding table, next to everyone else, in a rented hall. No one leaves. Sleep on the floor under your PC. Eat shit food, Pringles and ordered pizza. Games rotate every 2 hours.

That would be fun. Maybe.

Apparently I should not have used the montage version, and just had one.

Sounds fun to me, but you forgot at least one thing. LOTS AND LOTS of Gordonopolis homemade beer!

Ah yes, that. I was a little surprised, but I do tend to be unpleasant and off-putting. I ascribed it to that.

Always have Gordonopolis on hand.

Threw my old gaming rig away in the move. Once the year's bonus check hit the account i'm gonna get myself a sexy new gaming laptop. Been wanting to play the Witcher 3 in proper style for a while now.

And, as always, I throw down a gauntlet for all comers in Supreme Commander / Planetary Annihilation, regardless of room i'm in.

It's been long, and long, since someone dared challenge me at SupCom.

It's not a terrible plan.

I nominate the guy recently offered $500/year salary to rent a hotel suite in Vegas and fly us all there.

$500 / yr doesn’t go very far.

Honestly, your idea was always a plan of mine if we/I hit the lottery

What model(s) are you pondering?

Getting a new laptop (for work) that has these specs on a 15.6" screen
9th Generation Intel® Core™ i9-9980HK
Windows 10 Home
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5
64GB DDR4-2666MHz, 2x32G
2TB PCIe Solid State Drive
Which looks like videocard-wise still puts me way behind a desktop.

Oh, right, that was just the default I copy/pasted. It's W10 Pro.

Sexy. I was looking at one of these: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/le ... gIJIPD_BwE

I can't speak from a cost/performance aspect, but having used Lenovo laptops at work for a while now, I've been really impressed with their ability to shrug off drops/spills, etc. Which I'm really valuing because I love wrecking expensive things like that. I've been using a 15 inch screen, but since this won't travel out of the house like my current workhorse, I think the 17 inch is in order. I'll get a docking monitor too.

I tried to play games on a newer Mac Pro that work got me, but I can't get over the button combination for gaming. I hate it. I like my old Macbook better for general use. (porn)

I break every laptop I own. :( Lenovo, Dell, HP, Asus...

Nice. Yeah, for travel I don't want to go above 15" or 4lbs.

Which screen? Those new 38-49" curved ones are crazy.

My buddy has one of those, it looks pretty rad. I'll probably go cheap, I can't imagine paying that much for a monitor.
