Now, the accuser wants an FBI investigation. Ummmmm?
It's not me, it's someone else.

"Did he try to convince you to have sex with him?"
"Yes he did."
"Did you?"
"No I didn't."
"Did he rape you?"
"No."
"This investigation is concluded."

Who really said that?TheCatt wrote: Trump says something reasonable about the Kavanaugh allegations“Hopefully the woman will come forward, state her case,” Trump said Tuesday. “He will state his case before representatives of the United States Senate. And then they will vote, they will look at his career, they will look at what she had to say from 36 years ago, and we will see what happens.”
...
Asked if he believes the allegation is political in nature, the president said: “I don't want to say that. Maybe I will say that in a couple of days, but not now,” Trump said earlier on Tuesday.
Uh yeah, that's not their job. Go fuck yourself.
She's losing credibility already. This is looking more like a stall tactic.

Classmates says school was talking about the assault for days afterwards, and it happened. I mean, the only people we know were in the room were two underage drunk guys and her, so it's second-hand, but still.
My wife: He's clearly lying, and should just admit he did it and that's he's grown up.
Me: That will just make him guilty forever for a sizable # of people.
My wife: Well, true. Apparently I'm enabling rape culture (eye roll)

Why is he clearly lying?
Why isn't this clearly politics?

Just curious.
Some of my recent observations lately have been about how someone can get one tiny scrap of rumor, and immediately be convinced, to their core, that they have perfect understanding of the facts and subtleties of any situation. EVERYBODY seems to have that delusion.

People were always this way. Part of it is confirmation bias, part of it is anchoring bias, Dunning-Kruger bias, etc...
You're just seeing it more.

Good news: Both Ford + Kavanaugh are receiving death threats

That woman's pretty much recanted. Now she says she said that because she believes her.TheCatt wrote: Classmates says school was talking about the assault for days afterwards, and it happened. So just saying she did not have first hand knowledge. Which makes sense since only 3 people are claimed to have been there.
It's not me, it's someone else.

She also first deleted her social media posts where she claimed to have hear the story at school and then her accounts and then stated that she wouldn't testify if called to the Senate or do any more interviews. I think we can pretty much write her off as anything approaching credible in any of this. She has not repeated her claims as to having heard about the attempted rape since she took the posts down.

The accuser has said she will appear before Congress as early as Thursday IF:
-Kavanaugh isn't there. (Which would not happen in a court of law.)
-They can guarantee her safety due to the death threats. (Interestingly, the news report never mentioned Kavanaugh also receiving them.)
-She now claims she isn't requiring an FBI investigation, but still prefers one.
So when are the next elections? Because I think that's how long this is going to be dragged out.

Time to bring an end to this horseshit. If the Democrats aren't bring charges to have Kavanaugh removed from the federal bench, then bypass all of this and go with a confirmation vote from the full Senate Monday. If he isn't fit to be a Supreme Court judge, then he's not fit to be a federal judge. If the Democrats really believe these charges then they have a moral obligation to have him removed from the bench. If they aren't willing to do that, then what are we doing? I mean, other than the obvious of trying to delay this until after the elections in hopes of a Democrat Senate.Leisher wrote: The accuser has said she will appear before Congress as early as Thursday IF:

A week ago I wasn't planning on even voting in the mid terms. I'm that disgusted by Republicans. Today, I'm planning on voting straight R ticket.

You misunderstood. I was referencing a report I saw on one of the morning shows. (Whichever one my wife had on.) I only know about the ones against Kavanaugh because of your previous post.TheCatt wrote:TheCatt wrote: Good news: Both Ford + Kavanaugh are receiving death threatsLiterally, 7 posts up.
