I've been doing some reading on the Kyoto Protocol, and fuck everyone bitching about us not agreeing to it. What a clusterfuck of a treaty.

China and India, the #1 and #3 countries in terms of carbon emissions were exempt. China, all by its lonesome, is responsible for 30% of the planet's carbon emissions. (The U.S. is at 15% and is #2.)

So the Kyoto Protocol was essentially an attempt to get all developed nations to fuck their economies, while China, India, and the like are allowed to pollute at will.

Go fuck yourselves, and especially fuck the two jackholes (Clinton and Gore) who went and agreed to everything without negotiating, giving up more than what was asked (They, literally, offered the U.S. the option of reducing emissions by 0% and Gore argued for 7%), and did so knowing Congress, even if run by Democrats, would never approve it.

There is zero chance any sane human being not taking a bribe of some sort could look at this thing and think it's a good deal for anyone, except China and India, or a good move to save the planet.

In case you doubt these facts:
Clinton and Gore - Master negotiators.
Kyoto Protocol facts.

In case anyone thought I was full of shit when I suggested the vast, VAST majority of plastic pollution doesn't come from the USA, and New England banning straws, as a way to reduce ocean pollution, is horse shit:

Pretty sure no one here was doubting you.

I've been to third world countries...

I mean, it's true we generate more trash, etc per capita than they do, but we also bury a much higher percentage of said trash. When the rainy season ended when I was living in Mexico, the foliage withered, and you could just see rivers of garbage (no water, just trash) running down every trough of the mountain.

I've seen the argument about why America still needs to keep making restrictions, and lie about how it will help. "To keep building the conservation mindset," to help in the future.

It's all bullshit, and all about control.

I guess slightly more than zero percent still counts.

I think we can agree that people not living on the coast are not the problem with the plastic ending up in the ocean. Also, the coastal areas are disproportionately liberal. So why do liberals hate sea turtles and whales?

At first it sounded like ignorant bullshit, but then Volkswagen admitted that it used anti-hail cannons.

Huh.

I assume the noise shakes the air preventing hail from forming?

The devices are used to protect cars parked outside the factory from dents caused by hailstones.
Maybe they could just build a roof?

Oh, here we go
The automaker said it now plans to install "anti-hail nets" over more than 150 acres to protect its cars. It said it would continue to use the cannons if needed.
Well, now I'm confused.
The cannons have been used for decades, most often to protect crops.
