10 years ago we didn't have a "plan" that needed to be replaced. Everyone who had a real job had insurance that was better than it is today. It doesn't need to be replaced with anything.
For the rest there is medicare. It sucks that under that system we can't give 15k army and navy guys free sex change operations, but sacrifices sometimes need to be made in the name of reality.
I still miss working at Gateway 2000. Cheapest cost of living in the country, and my full family medical/dental insurance cost $156 per month. Sigh. Good thing we fixed that broken system.
