Into the Woods was a financial and critical success. So you have to count it whether you like it or not. I hated Avatar and think it's proof that people are stupid, but it made boatloads of money, so I have to respect it for that.

And I left out The Lone Ranger because you asked what good things he'd done. I know it bombed big time. He might have been great, but I never saw it.

Granted. Though to be fair, Depp had a very small role in that movie and probably didn't account for it being good or bad given his limited screen time. Seemed like that was true of a couple in that list. I still stand by my statement that his film success where he's lead has been on a generally downward trajectory.

Well, to be fair that could be said of legends. Take Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs, he was onscreen for 16 minutes. He was brilliant, but if the rest of the movie sucked, would we remember? Point being the quality of film isn't typically Depp's fault. Now look at Nic Cage. He's been in some great movies, yet he's still one of the most mocked actors today.

Plus, Depp is rich (maybe), a good looking guy so he can pull all sorts of ass, is apparently a great person, and he helped make Lily-Rose Depp who is gorgeous.

Rip him for his out of control spending and poor choice of films, like anything made by Tim Burton, but you can't rip the man for his performances.

I remember Depp being the Big Bad Wolf. Other than that, I really don't much remember his performance. I remember Chris Pine's performance much better. To each his own.

Pine was good in that film. Not so much in Wonder Woman.

I enjoy that we've completely derailed the Trump thread. This might be the only example of people able to divert attention away from Trump.

I was thinking last night we'd gone completely off topic. But arguing about how bad Depp does or does not suck is much better than arguing how fast or faster the country is going to go down the shitter :-)

So apparently when Trump bombed Syria people were pissed. He did it because Syria used chemical weapons, but that was refuted and his critics condemned him.

Well, it turns out Syria did use chemical weapons in the attack that prompted Trump's response.

No idea if this is all "fake news", and I'm sure it has to be because it makes it appear as if Trump did something right, but it's making headlines so I shared.

FOX is now reporting it as is NBC. CNN, the bastion of journalistic integrity, is oddly quiet on the topic. You'd think an actual chemical weapon attack in 2017 would be big news?

States telling Trump's Voter Fraud crew to get bent.

I'm a bit torn on this one. Trump's a dick and has zero evidence that widespread voter fraud occurred in 2016, an election he won...

However, shouldn't the federal government be allowed to create a group for this specific task and get said data? Not saying they're right to hunt for this white whale, but if they can't even hunt for it, how would they ever know if there really is voter fraud happening or not happening?

Honestly, I have zero doubt you're right.

I did chuckle at the woman saying she didn't want to support something that'd be a huge waste of taxpayer money because she doesn't believe there's any fraud. I wonder how she felt about all the money spent on the Russia-Trump thing.
