Rogue One - SPOILER thread

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Most of that list was "light side".

Rogue One - SPOILER thread

Agree with much written here. I also liked the reprogrammed droid. They mention that the reprogramming makes him a little blunt, and often his humor is funny because it is so blunt. Like the line from the pilot about the planet shield and if their code doesn't work they'll all die in the cold vacuum of space. "Not me."

One of the things that stood out for me not mentioned yet is the limited destruction of the cities by the deathstar. It actually made the weapon seem worse seeing the people waiting for the destructive wave to kill them. Watching a planet explode (Via New Hope) without a real connection to people being on it kind of sanitizes it for the viewer. Seeing the faces of characters we know and like as it's coming for them made it more intense, I thought.

And yes, seeing Vader as Vader and being full on bad mofo was a huge bonus.

Agreed. That was terrible.

Nobody on a planet is going to be aware of a Death Star out there and certainly wouldn't notice a concentrated beam of light fast enough to react or register what it means.
