Re: NFL

To be fair, let's report what that really means:
The low rent makes for a good headline, but the Chargers would be required to operate and maintain the stadium. Operation costs currently are roughly $15 million per year. There’s also $100 million in deferred maintenance projects.

While the team would also control the remainder of the stadium site, the Chargers would have to secure development rights. It’s expected that local opposition to commercial use of the property would be intense, and that the process would be time-consuming.

Most importantly, it’s likely that the project would require a public vote. Given the manner in which the last public vote failed, it would be another uphill climb.
I don't want the Chargers to move to LA, and from all accounts neither does the NFL, but this was a shit move by two politicians.

If I was the NFL, I'd pursue an option to move the Chargers to Vegas and keep the Raiders in Oakland.

The Dolphins destroy Bruce Arians.

Make sure you read the whole article to get the joke. Hilarious.

Looks like getting arrested is one way to qualify for NE's squad.

Walkie talkie investigation for boys in blue. Also, during the 4th quarter, Richard Sherman leveled (apparently legally) the fuck out of Jared Goff. Wouldn't be shocked to see him in protocol until week 17.

I was watching. It was a great hit. He came from the other side of the field and laid Goff out. Although Goff did get right up and the NFL expert pulled him, he didn't leave by choice.

Two side notes on that hit: Goff thought he was going to score a touchdown easily so he never saw Sherman coming and there was a holding call on the play. Goff had a great run, got leveled, was lost for the game, and some idiot was holding.

Gurley responds to FF troll, gets slammed.
Todd Gurley had to send a stern message to a disgruntled fantasy owner, letting him know he doesn't take too kindly to being threatened Thursday night.

Pull up then.
Random social media guy actually had a funny response:

Been waiting on you in the end zone. Where you at?

QB: Rodgers at Chicago
RB: ? Bilal Powell hosting Miami
RB: DeMarco at KC
WR: Tyrell Williams hosting Oakland
WR: Davante Adams at Chicago
FLEX: Mike Wallace hosting Philly or Adam Thielen hosting Indy
TE: Jordan Reed hosting Carolina's D that gets lit by TEs
D: hopefully whoever's playing at Jackonsville this week -- got the Texans locked up
K: Vinatieri at Minnesota
So, 60 Minutes or the only Vikings WR worth a damn anymore? The Eagles secondary sucks, but I think Steve Smith, Kamar Aiken, and even Dennis Pitta might have more red zone targets. Mike Wallace is the long threat. At least Thielen is involved in mid- and short-yardage plays.

On the flip side, the Rams nailed the Seahawks punter so badly, the dude was legit out cold for a few seconds.

Bilal Powell, in game where NYJ only got 13 points, led them in rushing yards (16/84) and receiving yards (11/78). About the only thing that's keeping him from having a great game is no score.

I had no idea AP was playing today. I'm rather glad I didn't start him. He looks god-awful, as does the Minnesota D.

In FF news, Jacksonville is kind of killing Houston so far. Just fuck. Brock's thrown 2 picks already ... and just got benched. Ryan Mathews eeked out a score while Derrick fucking Henry vultured a TD from DeMarco. At the rate the Vikes offense is going, Thielen's only going to have another ten snaps before the game's over. I could really use solid games from DeMarco and Davante Adams this afternoon. On the plus side, Vinatieri's day is shaping up to be good. Then I need Tyrell Williams to do something.

Fucking Ryan mathews goes for 128 and a score against the league's best run D while DeMarco has 9 carries and TWO GODDAMN RED ZONE TDs vultured by Derrick "Fucking Die in a Fire" Henry. Fucking die, Tennessee. Rodgers, the #1 fantasy QB, tosses fucking zero scores. What the fucking hell? Davante Adams, top 10 WR, like four points. Fuck you. Adam Thielen, zero catches after exiting with a mystery next injury. Come the fuck on.

I put out damn near the worst lineup I could this week.

Luck (benched) outscores Rodgers (QB, 12) by 6.8
Mike Wallace (WR, benched) alone outscores Davante Adams (WR, 2.5) plus Tyrell Williams (WR, 2) plus Adam Thielen (WR, 0) by 1.5 points.
Ryan Mathews (RB, benched, 21.5 -- best game in a month and a half) plus Derrick "I Fucking Hate You" Henry (RB, benched, 17.8) outdoes Murray (14.1) for only the second time this season. Both benched RBs outdo Powell (16.2) who couldn't find the fucking endzone due to NYJ's general offensive incompetence.

Weird part: if Dan Bailey has a boring night, say 5-6 points, it comes down to Jordan Reed v. Jonathan Stewart on Monday with a virtual dead heat.

Reed needs to get me 10 points more than Stewart. Granted he might go off, but he's sucked recently.

I had a really good day. I was up just shy of 100 before the night game started where my opponent had Zeke, Bailey, and Evans. He's now out of players and only scored 65 points. I'm sitting at 117 and still have Reed and Hopkins tonight.

Woot! Championship game next week!

On the other side of the bracket the game ended at 60-59. The losing team not only left 62 points on their bench, but had DeMarco Murray gotten a single yard rushing more then the game would have been tied and the tie breaker is bench points.

Davante Adams dropped at least one TD pass, if not two. Cameron Brate put up 13.3 points. Means if Stewart has a shitty night (3.4) or less, Brate would've won it. I need Reed to have a game like he did against Dallas. Even that's not a guarantee unless Cam vultures the goal line rushes.

In other news:

John Elway looks smarter every time he trades a QB away.
"Feel like Tom Savage gives us the best chance to win," O'Brien said. "... There's a lot for him to improve on, but I thought he threw the ball well yesterday."
...
"I have a lot of respect for Brock Osweiler," O'Brien said. "He's done everything we've asked of him. It's just the nature of the business."
Kaep wants Chip out.
Added Colin Kaepernick, when asked how far they are from championship caliber: "That's always hard to tell. It can be pieces here and there that make a huge difference, and it can also be the culture of this team changing, which it needs to. We have to be able to create our opportunities and go out and create wins for our team."
I'm pretty sure he means he wants Chip out and a Harbaugh-clone in.

Bortles trade rumours.
