I'm debating between Hurns and Brian Quick. I play them both if Travis Benjamin and Big Ben are out. (Big Ben being out would make Sammie Coates a bad play.)

Hurns at KC. Bortles is only going to throw and Hurns is outpacing Robinson in all categories so far. Brian Quick has Case Keenum, aka Todd Gurley's expensive ball holder, to throw to him.

Brian Quick averages more points per week than Hurns. It's a ridiculously slight lead, but still...

Why did Norv leave? The offense's struggles weren't his fault.

Bortles is more of a QB than Keenum, who's got seven picks in the last three weeks (more than double Blake). I think the Rams are a run-first team whereas the Jags are pass.

I assume he wasn't particularly attached to the org or team after the two starters he built things around went down. Front office had to do something and noticed they hadn't had a legit TD in almost two games.

Hey Stranger, can you explain this Jamie Collins trade to me? I thought Cleveland was all about analytics now. They trade a 3rd rounder, that's actually a 2nd rounder as it comes prior to the first pick in the 3rd, for a guy in the final year of his contract who is under performing and has massive attitude issues.

Actual quote by Jamie Collins: "I'd rather play video games than watch football."

This move made no sense for Cleveland. I get that this gives them a chance to sign him before he's a free agent, but who gives a shit? Who wants a cancer like this on their team? Also, why get him now? It's not like they need him for a playoff push.

This is one of the most perplexing trades I've ever seen.

On the New England side it made all the sense in the world. Belichick dumped a cancer to the worst team in the league for the same draft pick they'll get when he hits free agency anyway. Collins doesn't seem to have gotten the message, but I'll bet his former teammates did.

First half awards.

Of note is that offensive and defensive rookies of the year were Buckeyes. They missed a unanimous decision by a single vote.

I was a little perplexed with this at first but after hearing from some of the Browns writers they put it this way. They give up a 3rd rounder this year to get a no doubt young physical freak at a position they need desperately needed it at. But why do this with a guy that seems to have character issues? (although I also would rather play video games than watch football )

So here's where the Browns can afford to take this risk. If they just rent Collins for the rest of the year and decide to pass on signing him then they would receive a 3rd round compensatory pick in the 2018 draft. He would then count as a drafted player that left via free agency, even though they didn't draft him he still was with the Browns at the time of his leaving.

New England would have received the same compensation for him leaving at the end of the season. But instead of them getting it in 2018 they basically moved it up to 2017 and got the benefit of it being a low pick in the 3rd and not a high pick in the 3rd. The Browns have tons of draft picks next year and basically moved the 3rd round pick back a year to see if its worth paying Collins the money he wants. I thinks its a good move for both teams, the Browns are in some serious need of talent but yeah, his character issues do concern me. I'm sure he'll get paid big and then not do shit after, it's the Cleveland way..

That made sense until you make that final point. If they sign this kid to a big contract, then I'll know the new Browns are the same as the old Browns.

So... I know a dude who knows a dude who knows some Vikes players. Story I heard was Zygi Wilf called a group of coaches into his office, lost his temper, and Turner refused to take it sitting down. He quit right after.

Mark Madden writes a great article that perfectly sums up how I'm feeling.

Here's an article from another writer last year pointing out the same thing.

Another columnist after Sunday's loss.

FB now has multiple "Fire Mike Tomlin" groups and I know there's more than one online petition.

This will be interesting to watch play out. The Steelers' owner, Art Rooney, wrote the Rooney Rule. The Steelers haven't fired a head coach in decades and give them long leashes. However, it's very obvious to anyone with a clue about the sport that Tomlin needs to be fired. After a bye week they had 67 yards of offense and 70 yards in penalties in the first half of a game against an inferior opponent. That's beyond unacceptable. You can't blame the players for that either.

You've got a hall of fame QB, and you're 19-22 against sub-.500 opponents. The only reason Tomlin won a Super Bowl is because the unbelievable team Cowher assembled was still there along with the best defensive coach in NFL history, Dick Lebeau.

By the way, if you didn't see the onside attempt at the end of the game, go watch it. It sums up everything.

My RBs scored 9 and 6 points respectively. My WRs scored 11 total points and two of them got goose eggs. My kicker scored 12 and Brees put up a respectable 27.

Luckily, I played the lowest scoring team this week and I'm winning by 20. There are even three other teams I would have beaten.
