Yeah, exactly. Where's the option to just eject or bar stressful people from your life as much as possible? Be proactive, motherfucker.TPRJones wrote:Ah.
No.
Best stress coping mechanism?

Hmm, here we go. TPR, imagine for a second that Jigsaw captures you and drops you in a maze. All you have to do is navigate it and get to the exit, where food, water, and the door out are located, before you die of thirst or hunger. There are no traps, no one else in there with you, no other thing in there which can do you physical harm whatsoever (well, if you smack your head against the wall or something...), there aren't even any sharp edges in the whole thing. This maze isn't overly long and is something you could map out with the crayons and paper that've been provided. There are no false walls or secret rooms, either. No locked doors. The only hitch is that every single room is a variation on this theme times a thousand:TPRJones wrote:Almost never, no. Would that be stressful for you?

I would imagine that would be, yes. Although I wouldn't be moving. In that scenario I'd crawl to the closest non-spidery bit of space I could find and then slowly die.

There are no non-spider webby bits.

Re: Best stress coping mechanism?
The longest vaguely pointy thing in the entire maze is the crayon. Just to up the creepy sensation factor, you don't have any clothes, either. So: (i) no whipping your pants around like a deranged hobo trying to "sweep" the rooms and 2) any spiderwebs you touch make contact with flesh, not fabric. Anyhow, I believe TPR would be stressed, QED.Alhazad wrote:Do I have a stick? If I have a stick, no problem.Malcolm wrote:There are no non-spider webby bits.

Re: Best stress coping mechanism?
It seems likely. Although that's a pretty extreme situation.
Perhaps I just have been able to avoid stressful situations my whole life.

Re: Best stress coping mechanism?
Are you generally apathetic? Stress is only possible if you give a fuck. In your case, you give many fucks about finely spun arachnid silk getting anywhere near you. Stress is all about finding a nerve and pounding on it until critical mass is reached. Some people have many, many buttons to push. Others, not so much. Some buttons take a few tries, others are hair triggers.TPRJones wrote:Perhaps I just have been able to avoid stressful situations my whole life.

Re: Best stress coping mechanism?
Well there is that, too. I almost never get distraught or excited about things, either. I expect the reason I don't understand all the stress is related to the reason I don't understand why people can be so moved by sports things. I usually just stay in the contented middle all the time. Are you generally apathetic? Stress is only possible if you give a fuck.
