I don't recall, I think it's an ordered draft, worst team first each round.

K, the other league is auction, which means I need to semi-pay attention. Christ forbid they make it a straight $100 one, either. Nope, $250. Which means waiting forever for half the picks on the board to go for under $10. And some asshole always waits until the clock hits 0:01 to put in a new bid.

I will check my email, although I believe I'm in Put-In-Bay that day or will have returned earlier that day...

Bosa and the Chargers probably won't be a match made in heaven.

The Chargers seem to be trying to spin this to make themselves look good, but the sports media isn't buying it.

We allow 20 keepers in the new league, so be sure to set your team if you are in.

I'm sorry, but I'm on the Chargers side here. Who the hell does Joey think he is?! All the other players are going along with the collective bargaining agreement and getting their asses on the field. Joey is just hurting himself more than anyone else.

Besides, if he really wants the money its the second contract that pays the mega bucks, get your ass out there play like you can and you will get paid handsomely in 4 years.

I'm with Stranger.
According to a source familiar with the negotiation, the Chargers offered to pay Bosa 85 percent of his $17 million signing bonus at the time of signing and the rest in the new league calendar year in March. Bosa's camp remained steadfast in receiving the entire signing bonus by the end of this year.
Are you a fucking tard, Bosa?

They are splitting hairs here. If the Chargers did offer 85% of his bonus up front then they are essentially fighting over what? when that final 2.5 million will get paid?! That's fucking ridiculous.

There's no doubt that the Chargers are being just as petty about this situation as Joey, but they hold the upper hand here. Joey stands to lose way more money than he can gain by holding out for something like this.

Every other team has given their draft picks what Bosa wants, and in some cases, more. Including folks drafted lower than him. So why is he the asshole?

Also, don't discount the fact that negotiations got nasty early on with the Chargers pulling sketchy skit, like releasing details. Joey's mom is on record as saying she hates the people running the organization and doesn't want her son to play for them. His family isn't poor and they have more sons that will be headed to the NFL soon. I think they're fine with waiting.

Normally, I will bash a player for holding out, but in this case the MSM seems to be taking a hard "this is not on Bosa" stance. Considering I think he'll be a bust, I think he should get every cent he can now.

The Chargers can think they have the upper hand at the moment, but end of the day, they're fucking themselves. They already have a bad reputation among the league for screwing over players. Eli famously refused to sign with them because of how shitty they're run. Because they consistently suck they're never on TV. If you're a free agent, they're going to be the last team you'd want to sign with.

If you're a rival GM, why not float the Chargers an offer for Bosa's rights? "Listen, he is willing to miss the whole year and not sign with you, so unless you're willing to give him what he wants, you're going to flush a first round draft pick down the toilet. You might as well get some value for it, so I'll give you a third rounder for his rights."

I wonder where that team's going to relocate and what new populace they'll curse with their idiocy.

I can totally understand and respect a man for sticking up for what he believes in and not backing down to the man but at some point you gotta say fuck it. And I'm not calling Joey an asshole but I am calling him an idiot.

If his family is truly so well off then why squabble over such peanuts? I just don't get it, he is hurting himself far more than the Chargers. Sure the Chargers as an organization may not get the free agents and have a bad rap among the league, but the owner isn't going to lose money. The GM and coaches will still get paid. Everyone else in that organization is getting paid. Who does it really hurt the most? the fans and Joey.

Joey, sign your contract you idiot, play 4 years and get the fuck outta there.

Why not wait a year and spin the wheel? What does he have to lose, massive head trauma?

but the owner isn't going to lose money.
Well. you say that, but he and the team are losing money.

First of all, he just got raped in the LA deal.

Now he's got to fill seats in a city that knows he wants to leave, and he's fielding a mediocre team at best.

Malcolm wrote:Speaking of FF, it's time for me to pick my keepers from my team this year. So far, only one. I'm going to see if I can up the number during our annual rules meeting.

Keeper choices:
Russell Ciara $35
Ryan Matthews $ 5
Tony Brown $66
Doug Baldwin $ 1
Barnidge $ 1
Jordan Reed $ 3
Kelvin $ 3
Jordy Nelson $ 3

Maybe I can talk them up to four. Thinking Barny, Jordan, Kelvin, and Jordy.
Looks like one keeper. I'm leaning Reed. Thoughts?
Well, this league just kind of went to shit. Dropping down to 10 teams from last year's 12. Glad I got some cheapos in there to choose from. As for the 1 keeper, it's down to:

Kelvin, Jordy, or Reed. Still thinking Reed. Clear #2 TE that can be Gronk-like when he gets rolling. Washington has a respectable array of WRs but none of them have quite the bowl-you-over athleticism of Jordan. Kelvin, while young, is coming off a major injury and I can't bank on him clicking. Jordan Reed has. If I could keep two, I'd probably take Kelvin over Jordy.

Got around to answering the commish's email. Wonder which team I'll get. It's either near top draft picks or near top team. Either is kind of interesting.
