Re: MLB
How have we not discussed Chris Sale's insanity?
Article breaking it all down.
Here's a major league pitcher, their ace, who is paid millions of dollars to play a game and he cuts up uniforms in a temper tantrum because he doesn't want to wear it? Someone clearly doesn't know what it's like to have a real job.

Ah yeah, the Twin's "ace." Well, maybe "ace hole."...but the White Sox aren’t going to void a contract that could keep Sale in Chicago through 2019 for about what the Twins are paying Ricky Nolasco for the next few years.

Re: MLB
A-Hole-Rod signed by the fucking Marlins?
Hah.Rodriguez on Friday played the final game of his Yankees career, but his career isn’t over yet, according to ESPN’s Jim Bowden.
Bowden said Monday morning on MLB Network Radio that it’s likely Rodriguez signs with the Miami Marlins to play first base.
“The Cubs say they unintentionally played the song ‘Smack My ***** Up’ last night when Aroldis Chapman walked off the mound in the ninth inning,” Rogers said. “The Cubs will have a strong response to it this morning. It was ‘unfortunate and should not have happened,’ according to the team.”
We’re not sure when there would ever be an appropriate time to play a song with that title, but the timing with Chapman was particularly bad. A woman claimed last October that Chapman choked her during a dispute. He also allegedly fired a gun at a wall in his garage during the same incident.

Moved this to MLB thread
Winning 11 of 12 games against the Tigers and 32-16 against the division as a whole will make the rest of the division look like shit. Half of those losses though are to the lowly Twins somehow, that team has our number this year..
Only two other teams have had close to that much success vs the AL Central. the O's are 21-8 and the Yankee's are 19-11, everyone else is maybe .500 at best. Hard to say the AL central is the bottom rung, and I'm sure many national analysts would agree with me there.
I wouldn't call a division that has sent a team to the World Series 3 out of the last 4 years and the reigning world champions a week division. Hell, the only reason that division has such a bad record is because the Indians have completely kicked all of their asses.I haven't watched a full nine innings in longer than I can remember. I do know that the majority of teams in Cleveland's div aren't even .500 (the only other div in baseball so thoroughly pussified is the NL West), but I can understand how you dudes would celebrate being on top near the bottom rung of the ladder.

Re: MLB
HAHAHA. No. The reason that division has a bad record is because the Twins, White Sox, and Royals are playing average on their good days against every fucking team in the majors and have racked up almost 200 losses combined.Hell, the only reason that division has such a bad record is because the Indians have completely kicked all of their asses.
Then you'd be living in the past. The div this year is shitty. Then there's the fact that Cleveland gets curbstomped by any AL East team. Let's take a look at the postseason snapshot if things ended today:I wouldn't call a division that has sent a team to the World Series 3 out of the last 4 years and the reigning world champions a week division.
Toronto, Baltimore, and Boston (all AL East teams) are in. Then Cleveland and Texas. Here are the head-to-head records the Mistake on the Lake is boasting against them:
Texas: 1-2
Baltimore 1-5
Boston: 2-4
Toronto: 2-2
Against most quality teams, Cleveland barely holds their own.

Re: MLB
That's not how MLB playoffs work.. All three division winners get in and ONE wild card team. So by win % it would beToronto, Baltimore, and Boston (all AL East teams) are in. Then Cleveland and Texas.
1. Texas
2. Cleveland
3. Toronto
All 3 division leaders at this point. Then after that Boston and Baltimore are currently tied so if the season ended today there would be a one game playoff between them two, but only one of them would make it.
I don't deny the AL East is real strong this year, my point was that the AL Central is NOT bottom rung. Cleveland has struggled some against Baltimore and Boston and a series against either one of them would be tough, but it could be done. I think I remember another Cleveland team winning against all odds not too long ago..

Re: MLB
So, If you count the losses by the bottom 3 teams in each division this is how those numbers tally up.
AL east- 179
AL Central - 193
AL west- 195
NL east- 198
NL Central- 191
NL west- 202
OMG! the bottom 3 teams have lost almost 200 games! ALL OF THEM.. LOL
By your reasoning then the AL East is best and the AL Central would be 3rd.. Not bottom rung.

Re: MLB
It doesn't really matter which, you've got losing records against both. All 3 division leaders at this point. Then after that Boston and Baltimore are currently tied so if the season ended today there would be a one game playoff between them two, but only one of them would make it.
AL East: 310-283 ...... 593 gamesmy point was that the AL Central is NOT bottom rung.
AL Central: 294-298 .. 592 games
AL West: 297-300 ..... 597 games
Really? Shittiest overall record doesn't mean the bottom rung?
I like how your analysis focuses on losses and ignores wins. Quite a Cleveland perspective.
So if you ignore 40% of each of the divisions, your argument wins? So, If you count the losses by the bottom 3 teams in each division this is how those numbers tally up.

Re: MLB
Hey, I was only going off an argument you made. I never tried to break the divisons down into smaller increments to make my argument, you did..So if you ignore 40% of each of the divisions, your argument wins?
All I know is that Cleveland has top notch pitching something that is MOST important in the playoffs. And when your team is second in the league in runs scored and runs allowed you have a good shot at going places in the playoffs.
Plus, the rest of the division can't help that some shitty team from Minnesota has let up well over 600 runs and is the second worst in all the majors..
WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
Re: MLB
Increments? I was naming off postseason teams if things ended today. Those are teams that you'll have to make your way through if you want to see the NL team, any of whom could also mop up the floor with Chief Wahoo's headdress.I never tried to break the divisons down into smaller increments to make my argument, you did..
Your pitching apparently gets lit up by the AL East. Or do you wait until the postseason to ship in the "real" hurlers? All I know is that Cleveland has top notch pitching something that is MOST important in the playoffs.
Which has no effect on Cleveland's sucking on the East coast. Say hello to another season of "one and done."the rest of the division can't help that some shitty team from Minnesota has let up well over 600 runs and is the second worst in all the majors.
