Sure, I'll take a div title. But goddamn, offense would be reassuring.

49ers fire Tomsula.

This feels like someone dumped a girl they were just using after getting dumped by a hot girl.

I mean, I wouldn't fuck him.

However, as a coach, it's clear he knows what the hell he's doing and was jettisoned because he clashed with management.

Tomsula was clearly a company man, but that lack of a spine probably contributed to the results on the field.

You think Belichick kisses management ass?

It's easier to defend your position when your team wins.

I'm literally at a loss with my Browns anymore.. I was all in favor of blowing up the Farmer and Pettine. But what does good old Jimmy do? He promotes some Lawer/capologist (Sashi Brown) from inside this already toxic organization to Vice president of football operations with a final say on the 53 man roster!!!! This guy has NO football knowledge, how does he have authority over the players on the team?!

Then he goes on to say that they will hire a coach next and then the coach, the lawer, the owener and HIS WIFE!!! are going to find a GM!!!!!! What the fuck is going on here?!

First off, make no mistake Sashi Brown IS for all intents and purposes the GM and is just a pawn kiss ass to Jimmy. So Jimmy should have just said FUCK IT, I'M the GM! that's basically what he's doing here. This new "GM" will be nothing more than the glorified head scout. He will have no power in this organization.

So my ONLY hope now is that somehow, someway Cleveland finds a head coach with a set of balls to take on this mountain of shit. But I doubt this will happen, Jimmy doesn't want strong minds, he wants to run things because he paid a BILLION dollars for a team...

There is full on revolt with Browns fans right now and we thought it couldn't possibly get any worse, but it just does.

At least one good thing I can say about this is, Johnny will be gone. That is for certain.

I feel for you. I won't lie and say I don't get some enjoyment from their failures, but I do hope you get a winner at some point in your lifetime. I mean, this can't go on forever, right?

It's weird too because every time they blow it up, I get a nervous feeling about it like "oh shit, now they'll get their act together and become good", and yet it doesn't happen. It's been so fascinating to watch as a fan of the game because they find new ways to fail all the time. I know it's got to be heartbreaking as shit though, so for your sake I hope they eventually get their shit straight.

At least one good thing I can say about this is, Johnny will be gone. That is for certain.

Are you sure that's for certain? I thought Haslam was a Johnny fan?

Article covering what Stranger discusses in his last post.

Yeah, that's not impressive stuff.

Why are they hiring a head coach first? That's the opposite of what you're supposed to do!

And Haslam all but says "we're taking a QB with the second pick".

It should be clear to any potential coaches and GMs that they won't have any control over the team.

When Jimmy was asked at his press conference were Johnny was at? all he could say was "I don't know" He clearly sounded frustrated. Johnny was supposed to be at the facility on Sunday morning for concussion protocol but he never showed, he was supposedly in Vegas.

Then when asked what the future of the QB position was he said "We DO have the second pick in the draft". Jimmy is a Johnny fan, but I think even he is at his wits end with him by now. And I think the feeling is mutual, Johnny doesn't wanna be with Cleveland either. That marriage is over.

Hah.

Seattle over Minnesota

Let's go Packers.

I thought Haslam was a Johnny fan?

Ever since he listened to the homeless guy for his draft picks.

That marriage is over.

That implies it began. Then again it leaves you with McCown, Austin Davis, and whatever other pick Jimmy gets from a hobo to be named later.

Sorry, Malcolm, was just trying to come up with a way that the Redskins would host a 2nd playoff game :)
"Pretty much everybody is on a one-year contract in this league. I don't know how you build a program in one year," Belichick said. "Chip is a great coach. He'll end up somewhere and he'll do a great job there.

Chip gets hired just because of this statement. Some owner's going to do it, because Belichick said to.

Chip could have done better, but definitely deserved to be relieved of his GM duties.

Oh, and for the record, I know Washington was in a weak division with a weak schedule, but Gruden and the GM guy have to get credit for what's gone on. Cousins leading the NFL in completion %. 5th in QBR, Bottom 3rd in sacks.

Maybe my memory is bad, but I don't remember quite so many offensive linemen being in the 1st round before.

Barnwell's 2015 NFL Awards.

Mainly posting that for Catt due to the part about Cousins.
