You probably can't do it, so don't even try.

Internet seems to say:
chin-ups = palms facing (more bicep)
pull-ups = palms away (more lats)

Huh.

Like I said, the Marines don't care how you do it, as long as your chin is breaking the plane of the bar.

I always did mine palms-away, more lats. You had to do 20.

Heh, yeah. They did "flexed arm hang," IIRC.

We didn't have any wimmins in my combat unit.

Got tired of buying Monster drinks when all I wanted was the stimulant. Bought 100g of powdered caffeine for $10 after shipping. Should be good for about a year and save $60/month. Still on Soylent, up to v1.4. Awesome for lazy people. Enough protein content to replace any supplement of that sort you're using. Drinking it straight, like coffee and cough syrup, is an acquired taste, particularly with the new version. I recommend dropping fruits or vegetables in the blender with it. Flavouring 2.5 pints of 'shine, so I occasionally use fruit soaked with booze.

5! Then 4, then 4 again.

And it turns out that when I was doing the 4-4, I was using an rubber band assist that I thought was only 25 lbs. Turns out it's 35lbs, but can be more depending on how it's set.

Making progress.

Cardio Kills:
Mr. Goldberg left his room around 4 p.m. on Friday, collapsed while exercising and died of head trauma and blood loss, said the spokesman. His brother, Robert Goldberg, found him on the floor of a gym at around 7 p.m., with blood around him. The spokesman said it appeared “he fell off the treadmill and cracked his head open.”

OK, officially down from 204.4 to 191.2 (without clothes). Down 13.2 pounds in 16 days.

Body fat down from 25.4% (52.43 lbs of fat) to 19.6% (37.87 lbs of fat), which implies all weight lost has been fat, essentially. Muscle % up slightly, 37.9 to 38.3%

Doing 1500 to 1800 calories a day, up to 60g of carbs a day. Lots of cardio, weight lifting 3x/week.

Goal is 10-12.5% body fat, more muscle, so around ~175 given current parameters.

Down to 185 this morning (without clothes). 19.4 lbs lost.

Body fat was 18.4% the other day, have not remeasured today.

Ate some carbs this weekend, which really slowed down the weight loss, and knocked me out of ketosis. But the fried ice cream was delicious. Muscle holding around 38%.

Goal is about 10 more pounds, and to be able to eat the occasional donut while maintaining.

So in addition to the $75 Amazon GC that I won a few weeks ago, I won a hand-blender today! Too bad there's only 2 more weeks to win side prizes. I should have been entering that side contest the whole time.

I guess that means I'm really up 484.99 + the blender.

In 31 days, I accomplished the following:

Weight: 205.6 -> 185.6
Body Fat: 25.6% -> 16.5% (52.6lbs to 30.6 lbs)
Muscle: 35.0% -> 39.9% (72.0lbs to 74.0 lbs)

Given that I still have a fair amount of belly, I would have guessed the body fat % was higher than 16.5%.

If all those numbers are accurate, that's pretty freaking impressive for 31 days. Obviously the scales are not 100% accurate, but either way, all the trend lines are positive.

I did a 5.5 mile jog this afternoon, and re-entered ketosis. Feels good.

Thanks! I still haven't read the books you've given me. It's been hard to lift reliably at this calorie deficit. Goal is to drop about 10 more pounds, then work on muscle mass.

Today weighed in (first thing in the morning) at 178. I'm a bit dehydrated, and partial fasted (no dinner) yesterday.

From here on out the goal is body composition.
