I agree, and it should have been in the Buckeyes game as it would have ended the game and Bama would never have been able to throw a hail mary (not that it worked).

Still I get the anger. Had OSU lost on that hail mary, I'd have been screaming about the no call.

Reminds me of the Miami-OSU championship game from 2002. Miami fans STILL try to argue there was no penalty on that 4th down. It's arm chair officiating at its finest, and it really cracks me up when they say, "I know an official who says it was bullshit." No you don't because that call was voted as one of the top 5 calls of the decade by officials. They also don't bring up how OSU completed a pass late in the 4th that was ruled incomplete, yet replays showed it was a legit catch. That catch would have given them a first down and the ability to either run out the clock or drop it to seconds left. Instead the clock was stopped and Miami got the ball back with enough time for their game tying drive.

Had Detroit scored to go ahead instead of failing, we wouldn't be talking about that blown call, but instead about Lawrence and the moronic decision to try and run with that fumble instead of falling on it. That guy has no idea how lucky he is that his team won.

They were showing Leon Lett to showcase his blunder!

Dumb-ass should still be running laps for that.

I think that everyone is making a big stink about it because the PI was actually called, and announced to the stadium and then reversed, with no explanation whatsoever! I've watched a lot of football, but I've never seen a flag picked up after the call was announced on the field. Maybe they throw a flag and then talk it over and pick it up, but not after it was announced by the head referee. If they would have never made the call in the first place it would be a non story and just another blown call that happens in every game.

Also, these refs aren't the same team of refs that work together for the regular season. The NFL puts together a so called all-star team of refs for the playoff games, so none of these guys have worked together at all. So obviously, one ref didn't trust the call of another ref and overruled him.

That is indeed a rule, and it's retarded. Every aspect of that call was handled badly.

Hah.

Bears thinking about playing Shanahan roulette.

Lions make contradictory, baffling comments.

Redskins get new GM
The Washington Redskins were intent on upgrading their front office this offseason, and they now have signed one of the NFL's stronger talent evaluators to be their next general manager.

According to NFL Network, McCloughan will take over the GM role for the Redskins after his successful talent hauls with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

Encouraging.

McCloughan stepped down last April from his post with the Seahawks because of some personal issues, and did the same previously with the 49ers. He spent five years with the 49ers from 2005-2009 and three with the Seahawks from 2010.

In a piece on ESPN.com, McCloughan's battles with alcohol abuse were well detailed, as was his desire to get back into the NFL this year.

ESPN did an article about him this year (or Grantland...). Anyway, he's supposed to be the best talent evaluator out there. He just has a problem with the booze.

Kaep studies with Warner.
NFL Media's Kurt Warner, who is part of Dennis Gile's EXOS Phoenix-based sports performance crew, will assist Kaepernick in 7-on-7 drills and other mental parts of the game
...
His previous "projects" include Tim Tebow and Christian Ponder

I both like and hate Obama's constant inclusion in sports stories. On one hand, it shows the president to be a normal guy. On the other, it reeks of PR bullshit and between filling out decent NCAA brackets, watching football games, golfing, and taking vacations when does he actually do any work? (Sorry, that was a very Fox News thing to say.)

T Pryor is another college QB who would have had more NFL success moving to RB/WR.

"When we made that trade it was a great shot in the arm," Grigson said. "We lost our starter. I felt like it was the right football move at that time. I'll never back off that thought. I thought it was a no-brainer."

Rice report released.

Response from some owners.
As owners, we are the first to agree that the NFL did not have a sufficient policy in place to deal with players or other personnel accused of domestic violence.

"Unless you asked us last year, then we would've said we had that shit under control. We didn't anticipate someone throwing a punch when a ref wouldn't be around to flag them. That came out of nowhere."

NOT an MVP :p
In football the most valuable players are all quarterbacks, such has been the development of the game.

Truth.
