Logged on and was notified that some planet needed attackers, so I signed up. Turns out, we were defenders.
From the second I clicked the notification, I was dropping within 5 minutes. I think those little windows that pop up might be the key to finding factions matches quickly.
Anyway, Andy Dalton can eat another fat dick because I was rolling. I got 5 kills (most in my IM, first drop), 19 assists, and did 1900 damage (1st). I scored 500k cbills and over 6k XP.
When the victory screen popped up, I was dropping in my last mech (literally hit the ground when victory was achieved). They had every gate open, all the power things for the cannon down, and the cannon was at half health. Of course they also only had 3 guys with mechs remaining and we only had one guy who went through all of his mechs.

WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
I decided I needed a 100 ton assault in my mechlab so I bought the King Crab last night, it cost me some MC because they aren't available for c-bills yet but I had some extra around and decided to splurge. First I loaded it with dual AC20's and a PPC, holy shit talk about one shotting mother fuckers!! That's a 50 damage pinpoint shot to anything within 300 meters. I had a few occasions where some sorry sucker wondered past a corner just to get one shotted and dropped. i had some good and bad games though as the AC20's have a slow projectile speed and short range so it can be tough to line that shot up on a regular basis, but when you do... say goodnight!!
Decided to change things up a bit and went for a quad UAC5 build with 10 tons of ammo in it, cause i knew that I was going to be chewing through it. Well first game... 1000+ damage!!!! This bad boy lays down the lead like no other, its much like Leisher's Cataphracts but with the UAC5s you can double tap the trigger to get an extra shot in while the gun is on cooldown with the chance of the gun jamming. With four of these suckers on there i was going face to face with Direwolves and they were backing down because of the metal storm assaulting their center torsos. VERY FUN TO PLAY!
I did find that when you are one of the big dogs on the field that every idiot with half a mind will attack you first. Just like when we see an Atlas you can't help but shoot at that big fucker, well it sucks because you're slow and if you get out of position you're fucked. You can tank a ton of damage but when every LRM and laser on the other team is focused on you you're going down pretty quickly.
Also, did a quick math check on the items I've gotten for the stocking stuffer event going on right now and after 51 qualifying matches here are my results thus far:
C-bills: 1.575 million
Gxp: 2,400
premium days: 4
MC: 205
cockpit items: 3
consumables: 8
naughty: 1 medium laser so far, i guess I've been good so far this year.
Mechbays: 0- damn, wouldn't mind getting one or two of these before the event ends.
Not bad considering its all free and I'm only half way through it. I suggest getting those games done, its sort of a grind because not all your games will qualify but its worth the free shit you get.

Take that day of premium and just grind. Keep in mind that right now you're getting 50% more cbills and XP. Plus, any match score over 30 is getting you stock stuffer items.

I hit their forums, there's actually a thread with the devs asking questions of people with NVidia cards having lockups. Known issue.

Weird. I have Nvidia as well and run with everything maxed. Have done so for a long time. Also, I'm running the latest drivers.

I figured out my problem. At some point, my power settings got set to "power saving" instead of "Max Performance". In fact, max performance wasn't even an option listed. Had to create a 'custom setup' and select 'max performance'. Then set it to my custom setting. Everything runs as fast as it used to. 100+ frames at all low settings (hold over from trying to get it to run at all). I set everything to 'high' in the game and was still getting 40+ fps. So, some update at some point decided that I didn't need to go fast any more and wanted to save energy.
