Steam - The Future is Now
Playfire is giving away a free Steam key.
Anyone use Playfire? The list of games don't make this tempting, but I love the idea of stat tracking and earning rewards while playing.
Still, I'm not signing up without more info.

Nice. I believe that's on my wishlist. At that price I'll grab it.TheCatt wrote:I bought Pixel Piracy today ($2.50)

Was it 50% off when you bought it? Showing 33% off now.Troy wrote:Saw Endless Legend was on sale today. It's a lot like Beyond Earth and Civ 5. But somehow I like it more than both and it's kept my attention.

and it's kept my attention.
I'll be impressed if you're playing it in two weeks.

Ha - it's true for MOST games. BUT, this specific game I bought when it was in early access and have been watching it develop for a while and playing a bit with each update. I may have even paid full price months ago.
The big sales pitch is that it's fantasy Beyond Earth/Civ 5. With 6+ very different factions, with very different approaches to the how they play.
You unlock units and can assimilate NPC villages, and use their units. I've found success using Elves and assimilate a few Minotaur villages for some beef.
Everything is very streamlined and there is less micromanagement then i'm used to in other games. Also there is a unit editor so you can take your basic units and upgrade them with weapons and armor, including magical weapons you can make from the two strategic resources.
It's a really good 4x, and my favorite game mode is like 5-6 Hard NPCs on a small "scarce resource" map. It's crazy fun, even if I get rolled 2/3 games before I can get some meat shields for my weak-ass elf dudes.

Well, step one is covered. You admitted you have a problem!
I think it's like the old days with CBS, NBC and ABC being the only channels you could watch. Miss America had huge ratings because so many people watched it. Because Little House on the Prairie and who the fuck knows were the other two options. Now that we have cable and there are a brazilian channels to watch, MA isn't watched any more. Point is, there are so many games to play, jumping around is an option. Back when we played UO, what were our options? Not many.

I sort of enjoyed it. It's a step down from V, though, which I thought was a step down from IV. Like V it'll probably get major DLC later that will make it better. Hopefully.
I doubt it'll go cheaper this sale, though, since it's still pretty new.

No, I'm guessing it doesn't get lower.Cakedaddy wrote:Anyone think Beyond Earth will go lower than $30 during this sale? $30 only lasts another 12 hours.
Also, there are a shit ton of down votes. This game any good?
I enjoyed it, but those types of games are enjoyable for me. I enjoyed it as much as Civ V.
