I got an old-ass hotmail account (think I opened it in high school) and a gmail one. They supplement each other well enough.

speakers have arrived
For some throwaway $20 refurb speakers, these aren't bad. Woof is respectable, tweet is pretty clear.

The refurb printer/fax/scanner went to below $30. Pulled the trigger.

Awesome. I'll pretty much be using it for ticket printing purposes and some scans. Hell, more scans than anything else.

Hmmm, appears to be a GeForce 9800GTX+

I think I gave my wife the one that's newer for her photography setup.

I upgraded my 9800GTX last year. Was past due. Playing Rust improved dramatically.

I've also got an R7-260X lying around. What I really need is time to do all this shit.

Machine built... drivers installing.

i think this is my last time building a machine. Part of the reason I do it is that i have a crapton of storage (8x3TB storage drives, RAID 5 with 1 hot spare), and want to make sure the case, etc all works well together. I used to have 14 drives, but I no longer need the other RAID so it got retired. Eventually, 8-10TB drives will become more common, and then I'll only need 4 drives.

I infinitely prefer building my own to buying brand units.

Last time I bought someone else's parts bundle... didn't like. I am currently 20 feet away from it and the case fans sound like a jet engine.... and this is the sound they always make, it isn't like they are temporarily spun up higher.

I will always buy my own tested (nothing brand new on the market) parts and read the copious reviews, first, so I don't get a jet engine case again.

I used to have those. I made damned sure my current case didn't have that problem. The standard 3 work quite well, even during summer.

Got around to setting this up. After a minor annoyance, it's up and running, wifi-enabled, printing colour.

Rebuilding the "my last time" desktop machine with a silent case + PSU. Going to remove the RAID since I now have a 5x10TB RAID 5 NAS. But it's an ATX mobo, so still need a mid-tower.
