If you can't push out a lane but, obviously, would like minions to push when you not there, then leave a wave with one of your cannons alive, and kill the enemy cannon of the same wave. After another wave or 2, if the enemy doesn't pay attention, you usually end up with a blob of your minions hitting their turret, either requiring their attention, or they lose a turret.
