As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Pick one and explain please.

I've had Netflix forever, and it's great in some ways, and terrible in others. They just lost Spongebob, which is huge to my three kids, their movie selection is pretty shitty, but they have Disney and pretty much every TV show. Their interface is also kind of stupid (Parental controls online that take up to 8 hours to change? Really?) and they REALLY limit where you can complaint and/or make suggestions.

I've looked at Hulu Plus and they seem to have a similar selection, tons of TV shows and limited movies. Same price. Haven't seen the interface though...

Just talked to Netflix support.

-They're negotiating with Viacom to get Spongebob and Dora back. Due to demand, it's very likely they'll get them sooner rather than later.

-Chuck should be streaming sometime this year, but nobody can get a firm date.

-He gave me some email addresses... I'll post my letter and any responses I get here.

I mostly watch YouTube these days. With so much excellently produced free content I don't feel too much need to watch pay content often.

Post suggestions for shows you watch.

I doubt it'll replace my pay service as I enjoy shows that will be out of reach of free YouTubers, like Eureka and Burn Notice, but I'll watch a show worth watching.

Oh, god, I hardly even know where to start. I guess the top three groups of them would be:

Hank & John Green's channels (and related spin-offs):
Vlogbrothers
Crash Course
SciShow
The Brain Scoop
The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (Completed)

Felicia Day's Geek & Sundry channel, which is it's own collection of various different shows (not all of which I watch, but most of them)

SourceFed ( direct link to their YouTube ) which is a surprisingly good source of news tidbits

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's also Roosterteeth and My Drunk Kitchen and Rhett & Link and ....

I just counted, and I'm following just over 100 YouTube channels, so this could take a long time to list. Those are the top content producers up there, but there are so many more producing just as much or more quality if less quantity. There's more than I can find the time to watch.

EDIT: If I had to pick a single "show" to recommend from the past year, it would have to be Strip Search, the reality show produced by Penny Arcade and Loading Ready Run. It was really really good (and just recently ended).

I am still on netflix, both for ease of use, cheapness, and the fact i use it on my phone, pc, laptop, kindle, and ps3.

However, the newish Youtube app on the ps3 has me turning that on more and more, so that's cool, too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I doubt I'll dump the pay services as I enjoy too many shows to go the "hippie" route :D

That being said, I grabbed that YouTube app because I've been burning through a bunch of episodes of Strip Search on my iPad. I wanted to move to my office TV.

Disney's may be out next year and cost $6/month.

The other streaming services have to be livid if that price holds.

Meh. They don't have enough content to justify $6/month. But yay for more streaming services. Hopefully it can be like the 100 channels of crappy cable I used to have.

Yep. I care about ~0 of that content, except ESPN, which won't be part of it.

All that stuff, and you care about none of it? I highly doubt that.

Also, don't discount the ESPN link. If ESPN Plus doesn't do well enough, or even the Disney streaming thing, they could very easily tie the two together.

I rarely rewatch stuff. And have little hope for new Star Wars stuff. If there's a Pixar movie I want to see, I'll rent it. If Disney doesn't let me rent it, I'll... find it.

How did Amazon's delivery-on-demand subscription service get so big so fast?
The answer: taxpayer dollars and the decimation of our local economies.
It was better than all of the competition.

Amazon's customer service has (mostly) been very good, especially compared to all of its competitors. Prices have been strong, etc, etc.
