Trey and Matt unleash monsters!Variety got word this morning that "South Park" masterminds Trey Parker and Matt Stone will be heading back to the big screen with Giant Monsters Attack Japan!, a live action send-up of Japanese giant monster movies that looks to deliver on much (intentionally) campy rubbersuited monster action.
Written by J.F. Lawton, screenwriter of the Under Siege flicks and the upcoming movie version of the video game Dead or Alive, Giant Monsters Attack Japan! will be directed by Parker with Stone serving as a producer and both working with Lawton on the finished screenplay. Parker & Stone hope to have the Paramount-produced spoof going sometime in 2007.
No word yet whether or not we can expect a cameo appearance by MechaStreisand, but we'll let you know when we do.
