Acts of Violence (2018)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Acts of Violence (2018)

Post by Leisher »

Currently on Netflix

Bruce Willis is a detective who deals with human trafficking. It's set in Cleveland, so there's some reality. Three brothers and their sister are prepping for a wedding. The bride is taken and the brothers, one of whom did some tours in Afghanistan, are out to get her back.

This is really Cole Hauser's film and he's excellent. Shawn Ashmore is also here providing his normal solid support role. Willis was probably only on set a few days.

The villain is cartoony in his villain ways, which takes away from the baddies. The worst part about it are the two stooges who get the girls. They're so ridiculously over the top and their tactics are right out in the open. The way the bride gets taken has absolutely zero reality.

The bride is pretty, but her acting is quite lame. The sister-in-law is much hotter and a better actor.

Worth watching? Eh. It's not the worst 90 minutes ever, but it's not super memorable. Oh, and there's three endings. You'll think it's over, then again, and then finally it is...
“Every record been destroyed or falsified, books rewritten, pictures repainted, statues, street building renamed, every date altered. The process is continuing day by day. History stops. Nothing exists except endless present in which the Party is right.”
