End of Watch (2014)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

End of Watch (2014)

Post by Leisher »

Netflix

Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña are police officers, partners, and best friends. This is about their day to day life, mostly on duty, but also off duty stuff. David Harbor, Anna Kendrick, and that lady from Superstore co-star.

Written and shot by David Ayer who has a pretty solid resume. Check it out.

The film is shot "documentary style" so expect shaky cam stuff, but also some exceptionally well done scenes.

This is a tough watch. These guys don't patrol the suburbs, and they are the good guys, which won't sit well with some... Plus, Ayers doesn't exactly skimp on the evil in society. No idea if the scenes they come upon are based on real things, but I assume they are because he's from there. Horrible shit.

Very good movie.
“Every record been destroyed or falsified, books rewritten, pictures repainted, statues, street building renamed, every date altered. The process is continuing day by day. History stops. Nothing exists except endless present in which the Party is right.”
