Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)

Post by Leisher »

Netflix

Peter Parker is the one true Spider-Man, and then he's not. Miles Morales is also bitten by a radioactive spider, but he gets a couple of extra powers. Unfortunately for him, he has no idea how to use them. Thankfully Peter is there to teach him, but the Kingpin isn't going to let that happen. Doc Ock, the Scorpion, Prowler, and Tombstone are there with Kingpin, but a bunch of other Spiderpeople-ish show up to help.

This movie has heart, humor, and action. It was much better than I expected it to be, and does so with a fun art style. How everything is happening fits the story, is explained perfectly, and most importantly, respects the source material. Everyone that shows up is a variant that has appeared in the books or other media.

There's another cameo in the post credits scene...well two...

Good film.

I was going to review this, but there was no thread yet.

Very good film. Especially as a kid who owned a Peter Porker comic.

Agree completely.

Watched this with the wife. For some reason I always go into animated movies with a lowered expectation. It's like they aren't really a "movie". Though with all the CGI in the hero movies today, I think the live action could be argued to be some version of "animated" at this point.

I rank this in the top tier of Marvel movies for all the reasons Leisher gave about heart, humor and action. It was an outstanding addition to the genre.
