The Hurricane Heist (2018)

Maggie Grace is a federal treasury agent tasked with transporting old and shredded cash. Today she's in a shit hole in Mississippi. Oh, and there's the mother of all hurricanes bearing down on them thanks to global warming.

How they use the hurricane in the plot is fucking hilarious. They must have brought in the same weather experts as the ones who did The Day After Tomorrow. The wind can blow fast enough to make hub cabs impale a man, but people can move about without issue. The climatic scene portrays the wall of the eye as basically a tornado 40 miles in length. It, literally, destroys everything in its path. One of the lead males calls this hurricane "like nothing anyone has ever seen" despite it not even being a category 1 when hitting shore. (I base that off a conversation where another weather guy beats him it won't even get to a Cat 2.) Do the film makers not understand how hurricanes work? They don't get stronger when making landfall... There's also a scene in a mall where they display how hurricanes are basically outer space. Yeah, you read that right.

The stupidity is amazing.

Then there's the heist itself. First of all, this treasury building is guarded by 14 Army soldiers and some agents. All are brought down by around 3 non-military people in a gunfight. The sheer lack of respect for the military, and the ignorance of their abilities and knowledge is mind boggling.

Then you get into who is in on the heist. You know what criminals love? Over-staffing for heists. They love nothing more than to split their cut even more ways. Bonus if you bring in groups of people you don't even need, and are risking nothing nor serving any purpose. You know, until the whole plan goes sideways in a completely unpredictable way and you need bodies to up the kill count for the movie.

Absolutely a movie you should watch just to laugh at the sheer stupidity.
