Into The Dark: New Year, New You (2019)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Into The Dark: New Year, New You (2019)

Yay Hulu!

The fourth film in Hulu's year long holiday experiment.

Four young women (early 20s) get together for New Year's. One is now a YouTube star and getting her own TV show. They hint at her knowing Leonardo DiCaprio and banging Elon Musk. The other three are just living normal lives, but one clearly has issues with the famous one.

What are those issues? Who fucking knows? The writing here is about as bad as it gets. There was an "incident", but it turns out to be a suicide. It never explains a scar, why one feels like another stole her life, and a bunch of other complete nonsense. Shit happens where one (or more) are clearly the villains, and then all of a sudden, they're the victims. And how does the villain completely lock down a house that she hasn't been to and has no idea she's about to need to use to capture people? And how does all this happen, yet the police accept the explanation? "Oh 5 of you got together and now 4 are dead? Totally understandable. Please, go on living your life without charges."

A horrible, horrible movie that has production values, acting, and writing that makes me believe it was intended as a movie on Lifetime or a Lifetime knockoff and then Hulu bought it for their series.

Avoid it.

The quality of these holiday horror movies have been steadily dropping since the first one.
