As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Fringe was one of the reasons I decided Abrams wasn't really very good. The wife and I watched it and enjoyed it for the first season or so. Then it really started to feel like it wasn't headed anywhere. That was when I started to feel like he had good ideas for a premise and could tell a story, but really couldn't craft a story.

I just realized Stranger Things was inspired by Super 8.

THIS.

Lost was a great premise that went nowhere.

Fringe was a great premise that spun its wheels too much and inevitably went nowhere.

I'm sure all the threads in the new Star Wars will get wrapped up, though. Well, the ones that aren't already wrapped up. Like, Rey's parents. Tidy.

When I wrote that I thought of Jack Kirby. I think because I was watching some comic history shows recently. With his art, he told great stories. Left to come up with them on his own, they kind of blew.

Not that I don't think he deserved more credit as a co-creator of the early Marvel icons.
