The Southern Reach Trilogy (Movie 2018)

Stumbled across this series when I was looking for a new book under trending Science Fiction on Amazon.
I'm just about to finish book 3. I read the first two in a week, and have one chapter in the third left. It's been excellent, comes very hard at your brain early on and questions your perception while triggering unease. I'll need to digest it for a while.
I would file it under Science Fiction, Mystery, Cosmic Horror. The first book is about an expedition into an environmental disaster area.
There's a movie coming out based on the first book in 2018. Natalie Portman stars as the biologist. Annihilation Trailer
