Rian Johnson is still in complete denial over his shit Last Jedi.

Here a quote from this article that shows how he completely missed the point.
“There’s also just an adjustment because Luke is different,” Johnson continues. “He’s not the same as Obi-Wan, but he’s the Obi-Wan of this trilogy. He’s not the Luke of this trilogy. More than that, where he was coming from in The Force Awakens meant that it would have been weird and dishonest to just have him be exactly the way he was in his twenties. Obviously these 30 years have changed him, otherwise he wouldn’t have exiled himself on that island. So there was a certain amount of asking where his head is at now and why is it there. Mark was maybe coming into it more expecting what some of the fans might have been expecting – that it was just going to be 20-year-old Luke, except with a beard [laughs]. Because I respected the character and wanted to take that character’s arc seriously to figure out why he’s doing what he’s doing, it was never going to be that.”
You ignorant jackass. Luke is still Luke. All three trilogies are the Skywalker story. The original trilogy and the prequel trilogy never concluded. I'm sure the new trilogy will be awesome with this guy at the helm.

Here's a breakdown on why TLJ RT score is really 24%, not 47%. (Long story short: RT doesn't count half stars.)

This is pretty hilarious. A reviewer the night of seeing The Last Jedi when he is bound by a contract to not review the film:

Here he is the next night when he is no longer prevented from reviewing the movie:

Another interesting vid on TLJ debacle is this one proving it was a financial disaster for Disney, and also the reason behind them trying to demand more of a cut from theaters:

Here's a really interesting tidbit that might signal JJ is attempting to salvage SW from the train wreck Rian Johnson created: Lucasfilm looking to cast Mara Jade.

That's Luke Skywalker's love interest and wife...

If Luke can force-res, that opens it up for.every other Jedi master to return.

Who said they all died? They could have used force projection to fake their deaths...

Also, did you watch the videos? One of them discussed how Laura Dern's warp drive maneuver broke the entire SW universe. Why didn't the rebellion just warp into the death stars and imperial star destroyers?

Rian Johnson is a great director, but I don't know why he and Katheryn Kennedy thinks that makes him a good writer.

And what about when they're down? A huge plot point in RotJ.

Why didn't that giant ship in TLJ have one?

I dunno, just throwing shit out.

Maybe warp blasting only works at a very specific distance/size/something?

It has been mentioned in a defense previously, and I was countering with the actual counter used.

I don't even think it's debatable at this point that TLJ is going to be looked upon like Pepsi Clear, New Coke, and other major blunders from corporations.

On the one hand, I admire his effort to try something new and not just re-tread the Star Wars movies.

On the other hand, he failed.

Yeah, but he sort of failed with prejudice. It feels like he went out of the way to torpedo everything.

The guy can direct. I would never take them away from him. The movie is gorgeous and looks like a SW film.

However, the writing is complete dogshit.

Great director does NOT equal great writer. I don't care how easy Tarantino makes it look. There's a reason he doesn't work for studios and releases one film every couple of years.

Hey Catt, did you watch that last video on the economics? Make sense? If true, doesn't Disney have to reverse course with the backlash.

The problem is that the $/year he's mentioning doesn't include the rest of the franchise, what they're getting at the parks, etc as a product of that project. I find their analysis lacking. Some good points, but a very incomplete picture.

I figured, and they admit it since they can't include toy sales numbers. However, toy sales numbers ARE way down, which everyone knows. Just not by how much.

Disney cannot be happy with TLJ. It's impossible. You can't be thrilled when your rabid fan base completely turns against you.

I am not a collector of the toys or anything, but I was really looking forward to taking my kids to Disneyworld to see the Star Wars land. I honestly have zero interest now. I'm a casual fan. That's not good.

I would still go, and only for SW land, I don't need to see the rest of that place agin.

I love Disneyworld.

I was talking the wife into another visit. After seeing TLJ I have halted my efforts.

I think for me I need about a 1:4 ratio, "Vacations where you stand in line:Vacations where you are out in nature doing crazy things"

Possible leaked storyboard of Ep9.

If this is even remotely correct, I am happy with my decision to walk away from Star Wars after that fuck you to the fans that was TLJ.

More details showing why Kathleen Kennedy should be fired.
but Kennedy instead opted to part ways with Trevorrow and briefly considered bringing Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Rian Johnson on board,
Granted, this probably was before SW:TLJ came out and was shit on by the fans, but still...
Previous reports had claimed that Trevorrow had proven to be “unbearable”, “egotistical” and “difficult” during development, while it was also rumoured that he disagreed with the direction of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and wanted both Luke Skywalker and Supreme Leader Snoke to survive through to Episode IX.
Like I said before, SW will no longer get my money, and I know a lot of other folks who feel the same. There's a difference between changing directions and ending a story before arriving at the conclusion while spitting in your core base's face at the same time.

You know what SW needs to save the franchise? An Ed Sheeran cameo.
