As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Things are bad on Earth, a US war in Iran is going badly. A rock from space crashes into Earth, a dude finds it, and he feels compelled to build something. G-men with good intentions don't care who they kill in order to keep doing good things and find that rock so they can keep doing good things, killing old people and children along the way for good.

It is too dark in places, the first 30 minutes I couldn't tell one sweaty, hairy actor from another. And it is a bit of a slow burn, you watch them all doing things for an hour before it starts making sense beyond "he is doing what he feels he needs to do." But what the hell are they doing? That sort of thing.

I don't know. It was ok. I've seen worse. The story does make sense in the end and the big question is answered, so at least there's that.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
