Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Watching some "old" movies with the kid that have a little more subtlety than Pacific Rim, now that he's getting a little older.

I wanted him to watch this one because I like kung fu flicks, and this is one of the greats... and also it has Yo Yo Ma on the cello and my kid is playing cello now.

He liked the crazy wire kung fu scenes.... but this one was a little too... nuanced... for him to enjoy. One couple with unrequited love, one love triangle, retirement, revenge, enlightenment, bitter women, rebellious children, willful teenagers, suicide. This one was a bit too much for an 11 year old boy. I'm not sure if he should watch Rocky yet, or what.

Anmyway, this movie is still good. FYI.
