X-Files - Reboot? Return?

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

My wife and I were JUST talking about how this needed a reboot a few weeks ago.

Opening episode should establish that Mulder and Scully were aliens all along.

This summer. On Fox. Which means it could be cancelled by this fall.

Six stories?

Part of me wanted that to be a vaping rig at the end.

Six eps came and went. All in all, it was a damn good half dozen. Made me feel like I was twelve again.

Ep 1: reintro to everyone and sets the stage for the last 2 eps.
Ep 2: James Wong, of Final Destination infamy, directs what may be the shittiest ep of the season as he mashes up every crappy PG-13 teen supernatural ability movie since 2000.
Ep 3: The best sci-fi I've seen since the second ep of "Black Mirror." Seriously. Almost as good as the Peter Boyle one. A fucking awesome twist on the classic were-[insert animal here] motif. If they don't win some kind of TV award for this one, it's bullshit.
Ep 4: cameo from the frontman of one of my favourite punk bands still touring in addition to a not bad "monster of the week" plot.
Ep 5: Mulder and Scully meet their dopplegangers, minus about twenty years, in a couple new FBI agents they have to work with jointly to foil a terrorist cell.
Ep 6: shit gets real and we return to the story arc from ep 1. Saying much else spoils things, especially since Chris Carter hasn't agreed to any new material just yet. If I had to guess, I'd say there'll be more.

Maybe up for another season if Mulder and Scully can agree to terms.

Damn, I'm tired of being right.
Following last year's successful revival, the network announced Thursday that it has ordered a second chapter to "The X-Files" event series.
