Will Ferrell is rich as shit and lives a perfect life until he is found guilty of fraud and sentenced to 10 years in San Quentin. To protect himself he hires a black guy he knows, Kevin Hart, to teach him how to survive prison. The thing is Kevin Hart has never been to prison, but he really needs the money Ferrell is offering.
Listen, the plot here is very straight forward. You'll know exactly how everyone fits into the puzzle as soon as you see them on screen. You even know how it ends because you've seen a movie before.
The whole point out this film is to give Ferrell and Hart reasons to try and make you laugh. They succeed and fail.
Mostly, the movie is just entertaining enough, but it's mixed with moments too over the top to be funny and some genuine laughs.
Worth seeing once when it's free.
