Yeah, im feeling like this. The show is just being annoying.TPRJones wrote:I decided to stop watching this show. I want to like it, but now that the lead character has turned into an asshole I just don't care what happens.
Then I finished the last episode and at the very end I have some hope that they have wrapped up asshole time and are moving on. So one more episode.
By the way, I have a question: where did all the corpses go?
Last Man on Earth SPOILER THREAD - SPOILERS FOR LaMOE
It's not me, it's someone else.
1. This show is a lot less enjoyable than when it was about the last man on earth. On the one hand it could get stale, but on the other did we even get a full episode when he was actually the last? Wish they'd taken some time to explore the concept. They were doing a neat job of it in ep 1.TheCatt wrote:Finished episode 7. We've had about 2 minutes of Phil not being an ass.
On a side note, did anyone else think "Todd needs a bullet" when Todd showed up? Or am I the only psychopath?
2. Philosophy time: what keeps Phil from going full-evil-alpha on those women and that man? Technically, he doesn't even need a rape dungeon, he could have an open-air-rape-Main Street. He could put a bullet in Todd's head with absolutely no repercussions. He could breed all the women all the time. So when I get tired of Phil being a douche, I think, nay, I hope, the writers know they could have made Phil nonredeemable, so there must be something good they are building up to.
3. But, so much weird, surreal shit has happened to Phil since his near-suicide that I wonder if he actually went through with the suicide and all of this is his fantasy life flashing before his eyes as he hurtles through his windshield toward the rock... and even in his own fantasies, he doesn't get the hot girl.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
Yeah, he's still a complete douche, and apparently we're not the only folks that think so as the ratings are beginning to tank.
It's funny because one of the articles I read said the show was geared towards a male demographic.
Really?
If that's the case, I think this show should be exhibit A in the case of "Hollywood vs. Reality".

Finished episode 8. I keep waiting for some payoff that does not exist. It's just devolving into sitcom repetitiveness.
Looks like 13 episodes are filmed, and there are 3 other cast people listed in IMDB.
At least he's doing better IRL

If I were him I would just leave because it's my personality to not want to associate with people who don't like me, but he seems to still be pretty screwed up about being alone for 2 years.
For me better to be alone than around people hostile to me.
But, then, I wouldn't have made the decisions he made to get in that situation, so.

So does order. Chaos, aside from the other attached bullshit, is where fun comes from. Order couldn't have fun if you put a gun to its head.GORDON wrote:It gets tiring.

I decided to watch this until Season 1 ended.
I am happy to report that they had him hit rock bottom and it seems like they are moving away from "Phil is a potential rapist/murderer asshole".
In fact, they've now changed the dynamic of the group with two new additions and a drastic change to Phil's status.
The next few episodes will determine if there's a season 2 for me.
