Steam - The Future is Now

Not long after that, Valve announced its new 'anything goes' policy. "If you're a player, we shouldn't be choosing for you what content you can or can't buy," wrote Valve. "If you're a developer, we shouldn't be choosing what content you're allowed to create. Those choices should be yours to make. Our role should be to provide systems and tools to support your efforts to make these choices for yourself, and to help you do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable."

As I told you previously, "You're the star of the game. You are, literally, the 'Cum Guzzler'. If you won't get me a free copy, I'm never playing it."

I had an attempted password change from Nebraska yesterday, they apparently had my user name and pword, and steam was.just waiting for.the authentication code they texted to my phone.

Got in and changed my pword.

I got that shit the other day from Ubisoft. Someone from China and then somewhere in Africa were trying to access my account. I guess they really wanted to play Far Cry.

Steam sale dates leaked
This has the Autumn Sale beginning on November 21 at 9.55am (presumably Pacific time) until November 27 at 10.05am. The Winter Sale, meanwhile, runs for a fortnight, starting on December 20 and ending on January 3.

These sales are just days when I spend money on games I'll never play.

Can't wait.

I haven't bought much lately. But I did buy a few during the summer sale. I even played one.

For me, Humble Bundle is giving Steam sales a run for their money when it comes to sources of unplayed games.

Humble Bundle's monthly plan is amazing. For $12 I get, typically, a AAA title plus a bunch of smaller games. I usually cross 2-3 items off my Steam wishlist every month thanks to it.

The big thing to keep in mind about Humble Bundle is they can keep prices low because they aren't doing all the work. Steam is doing that. I don't think we'll see that continue forever. Not just because Valve will go after them, but look at how game developers bitch about Steam sales. You think they're thrilled about the "pay what you want" or "$12 a month" (split several ways) models?

Divinity: Original Sin 2 for $29.24, cheapest it’s been thus far. I’d love to multi this one.

Might have to pick this one up.

Also for Cake: Steam Link is only $2.50. It’s says supplies are low and gonna be discontinued as they move towards a software version on It. But for that price it’s worth it

I am interested in this game.

Multi, not so much. I had a bad experience playing an RPG multi previously.

Are you still jaded from Baulder's Gate back in the early 90's? Gordon really hurt you, didn't he?

Ha! Yeah, that wasn't the best gaming experience. For multiplayer RPGs with deep stories you really need players with the same playing style. Borderlands 2 proved our group has different styles. D&D lends itself to joking, chatting, having a couple drinks and still being able to stay in the story. RPGs don't allow that. I would get way too annoyed with people skipping dialogue and whatnot.

I want to explore. I want to hear/read the dialogue. I want to take my time comparing equipment/load outs. Some people are like me, while others just want to get through as quickly as possible.

My way is not "the right way" nor is it "the wrong way". Everyone should enjoy the games their own way, and I know my way doesn't match others, so why try to force it? And this doesn't even begin to get into schedules.

I'll continue to play multigames with folks without issue, but I'll keep the heavy story single player games to myself.
