League of Legends - Trumped up Rock, Paper, Scissors
Diana
I'm starting to see a pattern here:
-Darius has an ult with no cooldown if it kills someone.
-Jayce has his ult as soon as the game starts.
And now because the ult with no cooldown was such a popular choice with Darius, they've created another champ who can have no cooldown on her ult.
They should just do away with cooldowns, and the whole game can be about who mashes buttons faster.

Just did a 1v5 as MF. I had random AI, not the ones used so much previously in this thread.
I went 3-0 and won in 14:06. Not sure how that time works though as I watched the timer hit 14:00 exactly when I blew up the nexus.
With the new AI, I think 14:00 might be my 4 minute mile.
I think one night we should do a 5v5 custom game and all five of us go mid. Everyone take Teleport and Heal...or Promote? Could we beat it in less than 5 minutes?
Heal would give us more sustain, but Promote gives you a TON of extra time under turrets. All 5 players with Promote means we'd be able to Promote every wave with that tank minion thing.
We could further boost our odds with all AS runes, and champs with AS boosts like MF and GP.

Riot has confirmed on their forums that they're working on Darius' ult. No indication if it's a buff or nerf.

Diana is a pretty bad ass melee fighter only with AP instead of AD. I think most folks are talking about her out of the jungle or at top.
I played one game with her, and she's pretty cool. Picture using an AD carry, only with the ability to burst AP damage.

I have some thoughts but I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

When I am solo top, early game I am focused hard on not feeding, and last-hitting minions. I sort-of hear chatter happening on the rest of the board, but I usually don't respond because there isn't anything I can do about it, EARLY GAME. Until level 7 or so I am up top getting the job done. I usually don'[t even notice the jungler coming for a gank unless he says something in voice, or targets the guy in my lane. That gets my attention.
If someone is facing "OP Morgana" mid and is getting owned and needs to switch, someone has to make the call. I am not paying attention.
Both games we played last night, by the time I was leveled up top and moving out to roam and help other lanes, I was facing already super-fed assholes and I couldn't do much about it.
++++
Also in that last game they had wards EVERYWHERE, and I mean everywhere. I saw them placing like mad. But, you may have noticed I was not getting any kills, so I couldn't afford to buy nice shit like pink-eye.
++++++
On another note, I don't suppose the people who typically feed a lot ever use defensive runes and masteries, do they. That isn't a question, I know you don't. I have nothing to add to the "how do we feed less?" discussion when my advice is ignored.

"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
Ok, I'll give this a go, and I'm not looking to hurt feelings. I'm just being honest about what I've been seeing, and what I'm hearing.
1. We need a team of 5 - End of story. Random 5ths aren't just worse than Hitler, they're the greatest evil the universe has ever known. The devil refuses to play with strangers in LoL because he's afraid of their level of evil. I would vote for Obama if he was running against a random 5th. It also wouldn't hurt to have more regular backups. I'd be happy to post something on the LoL forums if we wanted to find another player that way. (Cake do you have a "Cavern" on your friend list?)
2. Runes, Masteries, and Builds - Everyone needs to recheck all of their builds and setups. You'll all ignore this, but I'm telling you that things in the game have changed a bit, and these need to be reexamined. Anyone notice that the teams steamrolling us are almost exclusively AP? I have. I'm planning to dump my all AS runes for more magic resist. It can't hurt to give it a look. I know I'll be researching my champs to ensure I'm using the best builds I can find.
3. Champ Select & Team Comp - I want to break this down by peep...
-Me - I apologize for the switch to Vayne, but I needed to change things up. Fiora is only good out of the jungle, Teemo isn't AD (and I've been forced into not choosing him lately due to a need for AD), etc. So I grabbed Vayne who seems to be played a lot. Thus I know she's viable. I think MF is a one trick pony, and that's mid. In other lanes, she has no real defense or escape. She can be overwhelmed. I'll probably keep buying AD carries, and possibly Linda.
-Gordo - As Singed, you the man. However, I do agree with Cake that you need to switch things up here and there so we're not screwed in ranked games if Singed is banned or taken.
-Cake - I think Veigar is broken, and while your Jiggs is fine, you're probably a bit bored. I wouldn't mind seeing you Noc from the jungles again or switch up your AP mid. Linda might be a real option for you out of the jungle.
-Stranger - I realize you needed a break from support/tank, but we've been losing since you left that role. If I remember correctly, you moving into the role the first time was when we started winning the majority of our games. I'm not saying we haven't had some success with your jungling previously or wouldn't in the future. Just pointing out the facts right now.
-Scooty - I think Scooty needs to be our utility guy. He needs to fit whatever role is left over, making us happy. Meanwhile, he'll then get to play a variety of champions making him happy. The key to that is WE need to assign him that role in champ select. I think he should be the last person taking a champ every game.
4. Let them go. We need to stop chasing. We also need to let our over aggressive players die alone. Whether that's me or Scooty or someone solo pushing. It is what it is. Give the enemy that kill, but not two.
5. Stop feeding - We are dying way, way, way, way, way too much early game. I attribute this to just about everything possible. We could go on for days about it. When you're losing in kills by 20 and it's 20 minutes into the game, that's a HUGE advantage for our opponent. (In the game with the awesome Teemo, at one point he had a full build and was five levels ahead of me while I had shoes and a bloodthirster.) How do we fix this? I don't know. I was at bot with Scooty and Stranger this weekend, and both times we were playing really close to our turrent, yet we were still getting killed. I think there's a huge familiarity issue at work because I just don't lane with them a lot, and I think Stranger was a bit rusty with Naut, while I was learning Vayne. In contrast, if I lane with Gordo, we can live in front of the enemy turret, and don't feed. I still believe we should start keeping track of our first death. If it's you, you owe 25 cents to a pool. Maybe that will slow us down a bit?
Another thing that might help is to point out what the trade was in kills all the time. For example, "Ok, you chased him down and got the kill, but you died doing it, and I got killed because I chased with you, and our teammate who tried to save me got killed. So that one kill cost us three deaths." Maybe if we put things into perspective it'll help us keep our bloodlust in check?
6. Familiarity - This is more of a question for discussion... Are we doing things wrong by switching roles constantly? Do pros do this? Should we all have assigned roles, and stick to them, only switching the champs we play?
Stranger and I got our butts kicked by a Vayne and Poppy working together smoothly. When I was Vayne and had Poppy with me, we were against our turret the hole time and got our asses kicked by a Lulu/Teemo combo...
7. Wards - Where did the wards go? All of a sudden nobody is buying them anymore. Scooty and I laned at bot this weekend, and Amumu came in a few times from those weeds to get kills. Finally, I told Scooty I was buying a ward for those bushes. (The carry is buying the wards...) He didn't take the hint, and still never bought any wards. Is our jungler buying Wriggle's Lantern and placing that free ward?
8. Split pushing - Take those opportunities as they come, but I do think at times it hurts us. Mainly against well organized teams. I think we need to be a bit sneakier about it too. Don't blatantly advertise your push. Pull back when the enemy is missing. I think I want to do more of this as Teemo because he can go invisible if they come his way, they'll think he recalled, and I'll be there right away again to push if they leave without having to fight back or use teleport. Also, if three can hold mid (where they always push) I think one person can push bot, and the other top. The enemy will have to react. If they go one way, the other pushes, and vice versa. If they split to attack both, and few teams will send just one person, then the three covering mid can push...
9. Communicate - We aren't talking much these days. We need to chat more. We need to be more positive (I know I'm a huge offender here.), and we need to explain what's up without being snarky.
-If you need the farm, say so.
-If someone is pushing incorrectly, explain why.
-If it's time to leave, call it out, and everybody LEAVE.
-Remind folks to ward.
-Call for help
-Call off help if the situation is hopeless
-Etc.
10. Teamwork - We haven't had much lately. Examples from last night:
-Stranger and I got help from Hecarim and pushed our lane forward. Hec left, and I told Stranger it felt wrong, let's pull back. He kept going forward, and I stuck around to cover him. All of a sudden we were outnumbered and surrounded. (Not picking on you Stranger, we've ALL done that. I just remember this from last night.)
-Hec and Jiggs came bot to help out and left without a word. I thought they were still there and was standing just at the turn below the turret. I got insta popped by three enemies. This was 2-3 seconds after you both walked away. Had I known you both pulled out, I would have stepped back into turret range.
-Jayce, me, and...1-2 teammates waited to ambush a group of enemies heading to dragon. they didn't come as quick as we thought and our teammates walked into mid. Jayce exited his weeds to the left of dragon, and all of a sudden three enemies walked out of the darkness at dragon. I was trapped, invis right in front of dragon. I talked about my predicament, and nobody came to help. Jayce turned around and shot his no damage shot from long distance. Whoopie.
-Later in that same game, Jayce and I were just south of enemy blue and encountered one enemy. The rest of our team was mid. It soon turned into a 3v2 as the enemy got help. Nobody on our team moved, and we were literally just below you. Jayce and I died, mid kept pushing, and the three we fought came up behind you three joining their two in front of you. Ace. Had even one of the guys in mid come down, the fight would have been turned as we had them all pretty low.
-Meanwhile on the other side, we faced teams that were traveling in packs, would gank in numbers, came immediately to fights, etc. We used to do that. Where'd all that go?
-And what's with our focusing targets lately? Nobody is calling out targets, and we faced a Teemo who didn't die until late in the game. When I'm Teemo, who does the enemy team focus? ME. So why is it when we face a Teemo, we're not focusing him?
Point being, we need to get back on the same page. Right now we're off it. There was a moment last night when I said, "I should screenshot this." I was dead, and I was watching the minimap. The icons for the purple players were all in mid around where their first turret would be. Meanwhile, the blue icons were scattered around the map. Nobody was near anyone else.
We had a moment of our old selves show up after Hitler left the game last night. We solidified our defense, started talking, started focusing, etc. It was too late, but the point was, we can do it, we're just...not.

Cake keeps doing that always-cute, and never-gets-old "we are all champions" schtick, but let me say this: no one person should be in charge. I mentioned before how I get tunnel vision early game when I am top, and just focus on holding my lane, but hey... if the person in mid says to me, "We need to switch now," then I will do it, immediately, without question. If the jungler tells me he needs me to take over the jungle, I assume he has a damned good reason and I will do it immediately, without question. I assume the other person knows something I don't, and it is not the time to argue. (Does not apply when a Hitler makes the call, unless they have already proven themselves competent.)
By the same token, if I make a call in-game, I would like it to be done immediately, without question.
++++
Split laning: usually that works with me with Singed, since he is fast and can clear a minion wave fast, but last night it wasn't working because they had wards everywhere and I was getting jumped by 5 peeps within 5 seconds of teleporting into a lane to push. When y'all see that something I usually do isn't working, speak up. I don't always figure things out as fast as I should when I am used to a routine way of doing things.
+++++
And finally, I believe my defensive mastery set keeps me alive, solo-top. Even against the organized team I was surviving the top-ganks over and over. As I said before, it was only when I left top and encountered the super-fed assholes that they started dropping me.
++++++
I want a prize for being the person who has been saying for about 6 months that we feed way too much, because it keeps being true, as far as I can tell.

im a little confused.. First off i didn't play last night, and i have been playing hecarim a bit latley so im not sure how we could have gotten help from Hecarim when i usually am him and wasn't even playing in the first place. HAHA!
and who is Linda? and Jiggs? (Ziggs)
And i would have to agree with the rune and mastery setups. I don't think an all attack speed rune page is a good idea at all. Maybe for certain champs it works, but on an AP or a support, NO WAY..
As far as going defense masteries, i would say only tanky DPS and some jungles should do this. Personally i almost always go 9-21-0 and spec into the defense tree cause of the rolls i usually play. But if your job is to AD carry or AP then you need to do damage! i don't think defense should be put on damage dealers. Not a lot that is. 21-9-0 or 21-0-9 is pretty much standard. If you want less damage put on you and your an AD or AP carry, then you need to position yourself better.

WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

Word.

I did during last night's game, but was ignored. To be fair, our whole team's communication was in the toilet at that point.
And finally, I believe my defensive mastery set keeps me alive, solo-top
As the carry, I simply cannot drop the offensive masteries for all defense. There's just WAY too much damage I'd be giving up. However, I'm going to adjust all of my runes.
I think having less AS will help force me to work on last hits more, and play more cautiously.
I want a prize for being the person who has been saying for about 6 months that we feed way too much, because it keeps being true, as far as I can tell.
We've all been saying it, we just have refused to do anything about it.

Hitler (random 5ths) played Hecarim last night.
If I mentioned you for "last night", I was talking about Saturday.
and who is Linda? and Jiggs? (Ziggs)
New champ. AP Melee.
Jiggs is Cake's character that he always takes to mid. I don't know who "Ziggs" is...
I don't think an all attack speed rune page is a good idea at all. Maybe for certain champs it works, but on an AP or a support, NO WAY..
I'm not support. I'm the carry. It works GREAT on AP Teemo because it allows me to stand toe to toe with a LOT of champions and do more damage than they can in the same time frame.
Not so great on Vayne or MF or Fiora.

I don't even think you should have 9 in offense as a tank/support. Just my opinion, I could be wrong, but if you're not there to kill, why have any in offense at all? I think you could use those better in the utility and earn more gold so you don't have to take minions from your carry.

I put 9 in offense when im in the Jungle, helps with clearing and jungler needs to do some damage too. But i do go 0-21-9 with some junglers like skarner or udyr who need the extra mana from utility tree. But i go 0-9-21 when i support all the time.
Incase you think 0-9-21 isn't a good idea, there are many reasons its good. First off with no farm i put points in the utility tree that give me extra gold per 10, extra experiance gain. I also use 3 of the gold per 10 quints. and my first two items i buy are philo stone and heart of gold. So with all of that im earning 15 gold every 10 seconds without killing anything. There are counters on those items that show how much gold you have accumulated over time and with just those two items and i easily earn 2k+ gold every game, really helps in them long games.

Eh, same thing. Both are names from the 60s/70s.

Reexamine it all.
Would you do better with a few more points in defense, and get the same gold from your carry giving up an entire wave of minions to you? Let's say you got 20 gp per minion, that's 120 gp plus 30 more if the tank is in that wave. That's all in about 15 seconds too. How long does it take for the masteries to give you that much gold?
I've been doing a bit of reading on runes, and I'm seeing that a lot of peeps do defensive runes so that they stay alive early game. That's not a problem for us...

AD carry should get ALL the minions. Watch any pro stream. Watch bottom lane. See how many minions the supports kills.. ZERO! watch how good they are and how many last hits they get on minions. Supports either initiate an attack or give sustain to the AD, you will never see a good support kill minions unless the AD is dead and the wave is pushed up against the tower. Also the AD doesn't just hack away at the minions and push the wave opening up for a nice gank from the jungle.
Its much more usefull to have a well fed AD carry than splitting farm with the support. The earlier the AD can get those bloodthirsters and Infinity edge's is worth way more to the team than anything the support is gonna get.
