If you drive by "steering" your phone, I'm out. Those games all suck.

Well, that's the easiest way to do it on a phone without controls or obscuring your screen. I'd assume they have optional controller support of some kind

I get that it's easy, but no game has done it well yet.

Maybe the gyroscope inside is way too sensitive or something?

You do not steer by moving your phone.

You play vertically, not horizontally. You move your finger side to side to steer on the bottom of the screen. When you pick up items, you tap the screen to fire them. I haven't seen a way to shoot them backwards like real MK.

Your car accelerates automatically, by default. Unsure if this can be changed.

Dunno yet. Maybe they're keeping it casual for now.

You can power slide by controlling how you turn.

You can power boost start by pressing at 2.

You can use items, and have 1 to 3 slots depending on how your car matches with the track. Every time you hit presents, you fill all the available slots. Anything you are carrying is released.

The game has coins, emeralds, points, drivers, carts, gliders, driver points, cart points, glider points, driver/cart/glider levels (and special abilities) separate from points, and hearts. Oh, and you have a level. There are also ranked competitions of up to 20 drivers at a given level.

Hearts - "stamina" depleted by each race.

Emeralds will be for $$$ IRL I assume when the game is released.

Races are "multi-player" in that it appears the other racers are real users, but being driven by the AI for your race. I've been 1st or 2nd in almost every single race. Yet, I was destroyed in the 20 player league I was in. I think other people have a lot more time for this stuff than I do.
