If you could only have one console system (current generation), which would it be, and why? This can include Steam Big Picture, or whatever they are calling their TV games thing now.

Also, from a gaming standpoint. Don't care about the media sharing/streaming/smart TV like stuff they might have. Strictly playing games.

Whatever device is cheapest that would let me play Red Dead Redemption 2.

For the larger community and the current #1 system in terms of most sold, PS4 wins by a mile.

It's probably the one I'd get if I had to pick for free, BUT I already have the Steam Link. Also, the next gen consoles are rumored to be sooner rather than later.

If I didn't care about playing with other people online (or playing Red Dead Redemption 2), I'd get a Switch.

While i also have the Steam link and actually enjoy playing that when i wanna play a game on the couch with a controller.

I've always prefered Xbox over Playstation but that might be only because the Xbox controller feels more comfortable in my hands. Other than that they are pretty much the same.

Does the xbox controller feel like a couple penises, or something?

Aside from them apparently feeling like penises, the X-Box controller layout is superior to PS'.

So there are no games that would force a purchase one way or other?

Other than the Middle Out Masturbation game for the Xbox that Stranger probably has on pre-order.

Middle-out is a compression algorithm.

Who then brought up the Shield? Wtf? Despite "not caring about media streaming"?

I saw the Shield on sale. Saw that it lets you play games on your pc, on your TV. I never said anything about streaming media. Learn to read!

Frittata. Had to google it. Sounds delicious. I don't mind being compared to something that seems pretty awesome.
