It's something to do while walking the dog. And I still have some friends who play. But there's just no game here.

There never was, which is why I quit long ago.

It's why I never got into that predecessor... intrade, intron, or whatever it was called. Basically you capture a place. Then you wait to see if someone captures it back. If so, repeat.

Maybe there was more to it but I didn't stick around long enough to find out.

Reminds me of being "mayor" of a place on Foursquare. That didn't really catch on, either, outside of coffee shops that gave free coffee to the "mayor".

1/20 - Level 31 - Barely playing now. Got all the pokemon, then they released a handful of new ones. Meh
2/23 - Level 32. They released a bunch of news ones, but the game still hasn't changed much. Why do i still play?
4/15 - Level 33. Two events since last post. Current one is double experience with rare pokemon showing up in easy to hatch eggs. The events are fun, but outside of them, it's just for when I'm walking to dog. I put some of my Pokemon into gyms, which gives you Poke-money (up to equivalent of $1.00 per day) which has made the game less annoying.

7/23 - Level 34. This past weekend they had a big Pokemon Go festival at Grant Park in Chicago. It went horribly. Nothing worked, people couldn't play the game, etc. They ended up refunding everyone + giving them $100 worth of in-game currency. They've changed the gyms since last update. I made $80 of in-game currency on the old system, the new system is easier for lower level players, so harder for me. Also, they introduced Legendary Pokemon. I defeated one this morning (with 9 other players), but couldn't catch him.

9/11 - Level 35. They introduced the super rare fancy Pokemon. My kids and I have been playing more together over the summer on joint raids where you battle super OP pokemon. It's actually been pretty fun to meet other people, and my daughters have made friends playing. I loaded up some accounts on old phones to help us solo some of the more powerful ones, though, cuz coordinating with other people can be annoying.

Yeah, it's been 2 days now, and I cannot say I miss it. Though, it's been so cold I haven't walked the dog, maybe I'll miss it then.
