See you make smart-assed jokes, but it's true. I'm at the Perrysburg Best Buy once a week and was at the Monroe street store Friday. Both stores have PC games, as does the one in Rock Hill, SC. I haven't been to the one at Spring Meadows in awhile, but last time I was there, they had them too.

For some reason, Best Buy has moved the PC Games and accessories for PC gamers away from the computer section and around the console section. You'll find all the games, keyboards, headsets, mice, and graphics cards there.

The day I was there, there was half of a row with bare shelves, where the PC games usually were.... much diminished from how many there were on the shelves 10 years ago. I didn't know if they were gone for good, or just temporarily. I figure it could have gone either way since almost no one buys disks any more.

The last time I was there, there were zero PC games on the shelves.

I kinda want to buy it for the surgery I'm having in two weeks, but $60 is too much.

Let's simmer down your shock and frustration with having your observation questioned. This is a thread where people have explained to you how backups and disaster recovery works and you going on and on about how you'll still be playing video games in a post-apocalyptic world. Which I do want to point out that you never mentioned League of Legends, which is the only game I ever see you in...
No matter how retarded you think I am, nothing you say is going to make my statement incorrect.
No, but seriously, in a thread where you're trying to find every conceivable loophole to show that you're smarter and better than the entire IT world, you want to then ask how anyone could question you?

Which store? And you're right that they're putting fewer and fewer on the shelves due to digital distribution. Consoles will start seeing that too. The manufacturers already discussed it, but there was push back so they didn't go full bore with it this generation, however future generations will clearly go that route.

And to bring this full circle, how does saying a store doesn't have boxed copies of games anymore fit your earlier stance about Valve going out of business or being hit by aliens?
Oh, no, I didn't mean pictures from you. I give you the benefit of the doubt.
Really? You give the conspiracy theorist the benefit of the doubt?

Because buying a $5 game on Steam (or an app store, I guess) is preferable to waiting around in a line to pay $10 for it due to upped costs from designing, approving, and mass producing physical boxes and shipping being required? The profit on even a modestly popular casual/mobile game is ungodly compared to the development effort required. No one wants the box for Angry Birds, Candy Crush Saga, or Pokemon Go, nor do the publishers want to box those softs. Actual boxes for vid games aren't coming back any time soon. They will increasingly become for the collectors.

Also (and you should really pay attention to this one, G), if your entire point is that you'll have your CDs, diskettes, tapes, punch chards, whatever with all your software on it so you can amuse yourself after a Mad Max-style apocalypse has come and gone, the time is coming rapidly when you'll not receive any of those with your box purchases anymore. You'll get all the feelies, the cool-looking metal collector's edition box with the brushed tin finish, laser-etched artwork, shiniest bells, and whistliest whistles you want. But inside, there will only be a small piece of paper with a download code and URL. The only way to avoid this is to pull some sort of trick where the discs themselves are collectible. CDs don't offer much room for kick-ass visuals or creativity.

It would also be handy to have an EMP hardened computer to play those games on. Just in case.

Who cares, there's a zero chance of anything happening and if you don't agree then you're a conspiracy theorist retard.

That's either you being funny or a Berkley protester level of logic.

A friend of mine just bought it for me for my surgery as a gift! I think I can play it one-handed, so, awesome! I'll check it out once I get back from surgery.

Got my ass kicked playing on the 4th difficulty level. Stupid barbarians are strong.

Game is more complicated, dont understand all the changes yet.

Playing again on 2nd difficulty level. Got attacked by barbarians and germans early, but recovered.

You've already finished 3 games?!! How many turns have each game gone? I don't think I've had a game go less than 300 turns and it took me a few weeks to do that. This was in Civ 5, I don't own 6 yet.

I know you mentioned having a surgery and probably have lots of time on your hands right now, but is this game able to be done that much faster? Or are you just a savant that cruises thru your turns in a matter of seconds?
