Left 4 Dead
Don't remember it? Microsoft stole the concept. Before Windows did it automatically, it was a program that read all of your apps and hardware and told you if there were updates for them.TPRJones wrote:Oil Change? Really, there's a game about changing your oil? How ... exciting.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
Just a waste of money?
Considering I bought Left4Dead for $25 without the box and it's $40 or $50 in stores with the box, that's a hell of a good point.
“Every record been destroyed or falsified, books rewritten, pictures repainted, statues, street building renamed, every date altered. The process is continuing day by day. History stops. Nothing exists except endless present in which the Party is right.”
I highly, highly recommend that you start going through the campaigns first with the AI.
Learn the maps a bit, the weapons, healing, the monsters, the pacing, etc. Start at the easy levels.
Remember that the levels change every time in terms of where monsters, ammo, weapons, health, etc. are located.

Went through the first chapter, or whatever it is called.
Am I not supposed to be able to save the game in the middle of a chapter?
I get only 1 or 2 weapons to carry around, right? Seems like I used an automatic rifle until I burned through about 300 rounds, then changed to 2 hand guns.

No saving period. That is an intentional design decision. If you die, you're dead until your teammates are dead or complete the campaign.
That's one of the reasons I told you to start on the easier difficulties. You will NOT beat a campaign on the highest difficulty level with AI teammates. It's impossible. Thus, you'd just be spinning your wheels and not learning anything about the game.
This truly is not the game to come into thinking "I'm an FPS master, I can beat this on the highest difficulty level."
Yeah, only 1 primary weapon. The pistol is your backup. You need to learn to conserve ammo. Think of it as "Your Precious". Head shots are key. Ditto for using the pistol when you can instead of the primary. Don't forget your physical attack either.

Gordo, will you be available for some Left4Dead multi Thursday night? Not sure on the time, but later will be better for me.
