West Virginia - They are wrong. It's Pies & Pints - Fayetteville, WV
North Carolina - Also, wrong. Pizza La Stella - Raleigh, NC
Michigan - C'mon, you have to pick a Michigan style pizza place. Or, Detroit style, whatever they call it.
Illinois - Never been to Pequods, but Giordano's is the right answer.

Nevada - Pizza Rock in Vegas. I will agree. As I have been there, and it was awesome. But I've only had Grimaldi's and some pizza in a casino otherwise.

I think in order to properly disagree, one has to have eaten at the place listed as the "best," as well as the place one thinks is better.

I'm going to disagree.

All that article did was look at TripAdvisor ratings. They ate nothing.

So, your entire foundation for disagreeing is, "Nuh uh."

I'm convinced.

Look, do you have a best or favorite anything?

At a certain point of taking in data (eating pizza), you know what you like and what you don't. And, if you've eaten enough, the confidence that what you think of as best, will stay that way, even with gathering one more data point, should be pretty high.

I have lots of favorites and bests, but I haven't tried any other thing on that list. So I can't say if I'm right, or not.

It's all subjective, anyway.

Ditto. Several of those photos don't even look like pizza.

Fuck that nonsense.

The Ohio and Michigan ones both look decent though.

By the way, a lot of times these lists are created by who paid to be on them.

Speaking of pizza.... here's wikipedia's list of pizza varieties:

I've had:
California-style pizza
Chicago-style pizza (deep-dish + stuffed)
Detroit-style pizza
Hawaiian pizza - Although, isn't this just toppings?
Mexican pizza
Neapolitan pizza
New York-style pizza
Pan pizza
quattro stagioni Pizza
Stuffed crust pizza
St. Louis-style pizza Italian
Sicilian pizza

Not had:
Chocolate pizza
Focaccia al rosmarino
Grandma pizza
Greek pizza
Iranian pizza
Lazio Matzah pizza
Meatball pizza
New Haven-style pizza
Pictou County Pizza Pizza
cake Pizza - This seems to be just layers of pizza. Unsure if this counts.
Quad City-style pizza
Sardenara Seafood pizza
Spaghetti pizza
Sushi pizza
Trenton tomato pie

Does this count?
al taglio Pizza - Literally, pizza by the slice/weight.
capricciosa Pizza - Isn't this just a set of ingredients?
marinara Pizza - Isn't this just a set of ingredients?
pugliese Pizza - Isn't this just a set of ingredients?
tomato pie - Seems barely pizza.
White clam pie - Seems ingredient based, not "style"

As an Italian that list pisses me off. :D

End of the day, it's all pizza, just with different toppings or a different crust.

Different crust, or different arrangement of things, I'd say is a different kind of pizza. But a specific set of topics, is just a flavor.

There's different cuts of beef, and they are still steak, but they are quite different.

Wasn't pizza invented by Hannibal or Alexander the Great or someone like that during a war in China? They saw a Chinese dish that had many ingredients in one, and they threw toppings on a piece of bread, toasted it, and voila.

No idea if that's true or not, but I have a memory of hearing/reading that somewhere.

I don't think Alexander the Great or Hannibal knew about China. Wikipedia says nothing about China
